Hello,
Does anybody know which stability ball and resistance band does Cathe use in her videos. I'm buying both for the first time and I have NO CLUE about sizes, quality, etc...
Can anybody give me a hand????
Thanks

For the stability ball, it depends how tall you are. I believe up to 5'7", it's a 55cm ball. After that it's 65 cm. As far as the band, it's a 6 ft. medium tension resistance band. You can get them either at collagevideo.com or fwonline.com. There are also other sites which I can't remember at the moment but I'm sure others will chime in.

5' 5"/5'6" seems to be the break point between the 55 cm and 65 cm balls on most charts that recommend them (unless you are using them for seating, like in an office, where the larger ball is recommended). Most sites that sell stability balls will have a guide like this posted somewhere.

I'm just under 5'6", and find that a 55 cm ball works just fine, but I've seen posts by folks my same height or shorter who say the 65 cm works best for them. The best guide is that your hips should not be below your knees when you are seated on the ball, that is, your legs should be bent at no tighter than 90 degrees in that position.

I may take a smaller ball (the size that the majority of charts I've seen recommend) because I have short or average lower leg length. Someone who has more length in their lower leg would take a larger ball (because when you are sitting, it's the length of your lower leg that determines where your hips will be).

I've seen some balls that can be inflated to various sizes, usually the super-tough balls that hold their shape even with less air in. (I just saw one in either the www.power-systems.com or the www.fitterfirst.com or www.performbetter catalog).

I bought my stability ball off the internet somewhere. I'm short, so bought a small one. 55, I think. It works great. My husband uses it as a foot rest when he's sitting on the couch. :)

I bought my resistance bands from Wal-mart. I wanted something right away; didn't want to wait for delivery. Mine are only 5 feet, but since I'm short, I haven't had any issues. In fact, I think the 6 foot ones would be too much material for me.
