Spring into Summer--weekend edition

It's nearly 4pm PST and I'm the first to post! Today we had 3 baseball games and all of them got rained out, so we've just been hanging out with the grandparents for the afternoon. Tonight DH and I will spin.

Question...I'm not really "feeling" my workout from yesterday (SS). I lifted as heavy as I could, but is it that your time spent on each body part is so short or broken up that you just don't get the build up of soreness (like with Pyramids)? Also (unrelated topic), do any of you use Midol or something like it for bloating? We leave in less than a week, TOM is in a few days, and bloating is always a factor for the first 2-3 days. I've never taken anything for it but I would this time if it works.

Well, that's it. Hope to hear from you during the weekend sometime. Happy Mother's Day to you all!

Happy Mother's Day to all those w/kids and all those w/mothers~

CinDee, I don't know what works for bloating but I'd ask the same question- it may be worth having Midol close by just in case. What day do you leave?

About the soreness- I think it varies on several factors depending on how you feel that day, how hard you work, plus doing the Pyramids fires many different muscle fibers going light-heavy-light. I usually don't get sore anymore so if I worked w/proper form and used the weights I can while maintaining that correctly I figure I did exactly what I needed to do.

Make sense?

Yesterday was HIIT w/ME abs - today is HIIT w/abs and legs.
I swear I ate like a 7 year old yesterday (pizza, hot dogs, chocolate cake, etc). Today WILL be much better cause I feel horribly guilty and its just not worth it.

Hope everyone has a very nice & quiet day planned~

Hi everyone, Happy Mother's Day! A quick check-in from Houston... my husband brought his laptop so I get to chat for a while.

No workouts this weekend, and my eating so far hasn't been so good. Not as bad as when I was abroad either, so I won't worry about my "dietary offenses". I know that next week I'll be hitting it harder after having started it slow last week.

Cindee, sometimes I also don't feel yesterday's workout even though I gave it my all. Sometimes I wonder if the rests I take between sets when I'm lifting as heavey as I can are too long (about a minute).

Hellos to everyone. Have a great day.

Hi CinDee, Brenda, & Pinky and anyone else who reads this weekend edition~
Happy Day to all who are Mom's and those who have a Mom or Grand Mom!
CinDee~ we were able to get my son's bb game in before the big rain but then we had to do our planting in the rain. We ordered this fragarant moonlight garden in the mail and had to get the plants in the ground ASAP. Hangin' out with grandma sounded nice! We will have the abuelos over for Lasagna later today.

Brenda~ I ate just like you yesterday. I guess we all have lapses. The Dunkin Donuts by our house gets way too much business from us! LOL When my kids have a sleep over, I usually get donuts; and yesterday I had to indulge!

Cindee & pinky sometime I don't get sore the next day either even though the workout seemed hard to complete at the time. Even with S&H these past two weeks I don't get sore with some of the workouts but I feel as if I am going as heavy as I can with good form.

I'm not sure about the Midol, but if it contains a diruetic it should help with bloating. Let us know if you try it and if it works.

"Abuelos"...Judy, are you a fellow Latina?

Well, I'm really starting to feel the mental strain of keeping up a rotation for 8 weeks. DH and I didn't spin last night (no real reason, just didn't want to), so tonight I'm going to lift (probably PP) and HIIT even though I really don't want to. I'd rather just watch a movie or read a book. Eeking through the next 5 days is going to be will-power driven...I really think I need a week off! (Gee, do I sound like it?)

Today was a lot of fun with family and friends, and even though we went out to eat I did fairly well on my meal.

I'll keep you posted on the Midol issue.

We leave in 5 days! It was fun to kiss my sister and parents goodby after lunch today and say, "See you in Mexico!" We were grinning like goofballs we're so excited.:p
