Spring into Summer - Monday, 6/28

Hi All;
Well I'm feeling a bit better, hey I'm walking without feeling my feet won't fail me :). As some of you may have remembered I was scheduled for surgery on the 22nd last Tuesday. Well I've been resting and popping mucho percocets and I think I'm feeling a bit like myself again. I have been in much discomfort and I'm actually to stay at home , can't lift nothing over 5 pounds, can't drive ect. etc.
I hope these restrictions are pulled come this Wednesday when I see my surgeon. I also hope he gives me the go ahead to start working out soon.
I was thinking that maybe doing some streching yoga today will help get me going. I honestly hope that I have not lost much in strength and endurance. It's actually driving me looney that I can't workout ...well it's driving me looney when my pain meds effect start going away but soon it's back to lala land .
:)
I just wanted to say hi and I hope to be back amongest you all here working out and feeling fit again.
Hugs;

Hi Vilma! (LOVE the art on your signature BTW!) I just wanted to say Welcome Back and hope that you recover fast. I know how frustrating it is not to be able to do what we want to do. Hang in there, follow doctor's orders and you should be back in the swing real soon! Wishing you a very speedy recovery! (Sorry for popping into your "Spring into Summer" thread. I have a BAD habit of that! ;-))

Hello everyone,

How are you all? I had a very busy weekend. We went to Six Flags America for about 4 hours on Saturday; did some rides and then went into the water park after lunch. Michael never had a birthday party because of being sick so much, and in early May said that he thought it was too late to have one. Anyway, I had promised that he could have two of his friends sleep over the same night (usually it's one at a time), so that happened Saturday night. Anyway, I still managed a good workout. I did C&W. For some reason I decided to use a six inch step, even though I've been pretty much exclusively using four inches. It was definitely a push, but I made it through, using the same weights as Cathe for everything but the Arnold presses and db flyes. I felt great when I was done. Yesterday, after the guests left, Michael went to the pool with his friends, and I took Nicholas to the pool also for about an hour. I was pretty tired (I was up 'til 1 am Sunday morning), but I did the cardio from HSTA (a short HIIT equivalent), and then did segments from three Lotte Berk DVDs. This morning was a take it easy workout; I did three segments from Janis Saffels' new Cardio Kick, and then the upper body work from Kathy Smith's LWTLW2, which actually was not taking it easy so much. I'm going to take a walk in a few minutes, and that will be it for today.

Vilma, I'm so glad you're surgery is over with, and that you're up to talking with us. Don't rush back, you don't want to draw out the recover, but also don't worry too much about it. I've been taking it easy for several months now, but don't feel that I've lost that much in terms of endurance or strength.

Debbie, you're welcome to pop in whenever you want. I'm sure Vilma appreciated your note.

I hope everyone's well today. Sorry for the long message, I just was so pleased with Saturday's workout, I thought I'd tell you about that, and just kept going!

Hey shywolf! I know the frustration of recovering after surgery, no fun. But I'm sure you'll be back on your feet in no time!
Well, this morning I ended up just walking, not jogging. I took our puppy with me, and he sure helped pull me along! I am trying to get over a little cold, so I chose to just walk instead of jogging. This afternoon will more than likely be Power Hour. I'm actually looking forward to it. It was my first Cathe strength workout so it holds a special place in my heart!
I hope that you all had a great weekend! The weather here is finally warming up, yay! Today is supposed to get up to 77 degrees! Then as the week goes on we're supposed to get up inthe 80's. We Haven't seen the 80's in about a month!
Well, I'll talk to you all later!

Kathy

VILMA! Great to know you're well on your way to recovery. I'm sending healing vibes your way. Don't worry too much about strength and endurance right now (though I can understand how antsy you must be about working out again). Just focus on resting and getting better, which I know you will very soon.

Well ladies, I got nothing done over the weekend. I plan on finishing my PS series today -- shoulders, triceps and biceps.

My eating has been horrendous. I've been chugging Pepto Bismol the last two days. There's been too much stress here at home. I hope your weekend was better than mine.

Talk to you guys later. Have a great week,
Pinky:)
