Spring into Summer 5/12

Hello everyone~
I've been on the forum for a while this morning, but it looks like I'll be the first to post today.
Well, I finally did it! This morning I purchased Cathe's 8 pack (CTX with CK and CM)! I cannot wait. I think I'll plan to continue with one part/day through next week, then see if I want to change to more endurance.
Since this is my first rotation, I'm not quite sure how long to do it.
Today was back, PS, SH and MIS, followed by abs. I'd like to do some cardio tonight.

I'll check back later to what everyone else is up to today.

Susan C.M.:D

Good afternoon, everyone,

Susan, congratulations on your purchase. That's definitely a worthwhile purchase. I enjoy those workouts very much. I've been wanting to do a CTX rotation for a while, but this has been an especially bad three months for me in terms of getting sick, and I haven't gotten to it yet.

I did the Winsor Maximum Burn workout Sunday evening, and again this morning. The only other time I had done it was back in March, and I definitely feel like my core is even stronger now, which I think I attribute to the Core Foundations workout that I had been doing. I was on the VF forum yesterday, and saw people saying that they couldn't do all of the exercises in that video, and a number of people said that they were advanced exercises (some mentioned doing Cathe's workouts). I feel good because although it's not easy for me, I can do all of CF. I hope to do it again later this week and then also try the TLP Dynamic Strength. Some of the VFer's commented that they find that workout to be easier than CF.

I took Michael to a neurologist on Monday. He said that the headaches could still be related to the menengitis (he said that sometimes the recovery is very drawn out with viral menegitis). He also said, however, that Michael has been taking too much OTC pain reliever, and that could also be causing him to have headaches at this point. So, he's going off pain reliever, he'll be keeping a headache diary, and we'll go back to this dr on 6/16.

I hope everyone's well today. Talk to you later.

Hi all, I have a lovely sore in my legs after doing PLB (up only) yesterday. They're definitely resting today. I've lost a lot of strength in my legs. I used 8/10/12-lb. DB's with the presses, 10/12/15-lb. DB's with the squats and plies (I did them against the wall), and 12/15/20-lb. DB's with deadlifts. My weight used to go as high as 45 lbs. almost four months ago. But this is good. I know that at 45 lbs. my legs start to bulk, so I know what weights to work up to this time.

Today is PH-upper body. I was going to do that last Monday, but I did C&W instead. So my chest and biceps (the segments I find hard) are going to take a licking today.}(

Lisa, I hope Michael gets better really soon. Whatever he's going through right now sounds awful, and I know that it's not easy for you as his mom either. I also hope your health improves so you can get back to your favorite workouts.:)

Susan, you WILL enjoy your purchase, especially CTX, which is very versatile and flexible. Have fun!

Later,
Pinky

Good afternoon everyone,

After going to bed early last night (9:30) and using the inhaler again for my allergies, I finally got a good night's sleep. Thus, when the alarm went off at just past 5 I didn't have a sense of dread mixed with exhaustion. Got up and did Rob Glick's Amazing Step Styles. Wow! I forgot how complex some of the choreography was! Yet it was just so much fun! And having to look at the gorgeous Mr. Glick was just icing on the cake :9 .

Susan- Congratulations on your 8 pack purchase. You will enjoy it so much. I'm doing a variety rotation and next week is a week of CTX. I'm actually looking forward to it (except Leaner Legs which I always have to psyche myself up for).

Lisa- Sorry to hear that Michael is still under the weather. I agree with Pinky that I hope you are taking care of yourself (I know it's been very rough on you as well). Sounds like this doctor might be on to something. Keep us posted.

Pinky- Great job on the leg work! I'm sure you'll be in your usual top form in no time flat.

Big hellos to everyone else!

Well, yesteday I did Still Jumpin with Christy Taylor, but only the second section, with a PLB warm up and then I did the first 15 min of Leaner Legs. I ran out of time, so I dont know if I should do this or not. But I'm thinking that today I wil do the rest of Leaner Legs, being that I'm not sore today anyway. What do you all think? I do need to do upper body too though. I waas also thinking that some cardio would be nice, AH! I can't make up my mind! Ah, tomarrow is an all cardio day, I can skip today for cadio. Now that I've worked through that tough decission, I just need to think about what upper body workout I want to do. I'm thinking SS Upper body premix (the long version) might be nice. I like that one, I dont know why, maybe because it is so different from the other upper body workouts, just a breath of fresh air.
Susan, I have the CTX sereis, I love it! It is very versatile, because you can tack on a cardio to whatever weight section that you are doing for the day, and it's intense but only thirty min. It's just a great addition.
Lisa, I'm sorry to hear about your son. My sil has the same problem and the dr said the same thing about oc pain relievers. I hope that they can find something that will help.
Pinky, sore is a good thing. At least you knwo that you worked your muscles hard. Just remember that muscles have memory and they will get back into shape fast!
Have a great day all!
Kathy

Hi all!

Well I was not able to workout today again as I had to dash with my 5 yr old to the doctor's this morning. He still does not want to diagnosis her as having asthma but has put her on 3 different meds and she has a follow - up in 2wks time to see if she has improvements if not she will be getting a pulmonary test. She's not that bad but has a constant cough that does not go away along with allergies that are aggravating her breathing.

We also had her 1st visit with our dentist and she did really well after they explained and showed her the tools.

I hope that tommorow I can get back to doing some type of work out and I'm debating on what I should treat myself with tommorrow as it just happens to be my birthday. I would really love a new tattoo or maybe get my belly pierced or just going in for a wax job...eh whatever LOL

Anyways I would love to get all my older Cathe workouts over to DVD but that will be awhile as I think as the vhs goes bad then I'll get the dvds :p

You are going to really enjoy CTX !

Shywolf,

Happy Birthday tomorrow! My son Michael was diagnosed with "cough variant asthma" when he was about 14 months old. He wheezes only once in a while, but he gets that constant shallow dry cough. I hope that your daughter feels better soon.

Enjoy your birthday, and treat yourself if that's what you want!
