Split rotation question

Hi, I'm generally new to Cathe (have tried out her stuff on FitTV and now I want to buy ALL her DVDs, LOL!!) but not new to exercise.

I’m looking for ideas right now for my next fitness rotation. I’m starting a new one in a week (after this week of rest – haven’t had a real “rest week” in almost 2 years, except for sickness). Here’s the basis behind my custom rotation for the next 8 weeks:

Mon: Upper body weights combined w/ cardio, 60+ min
Tues: Lower body weights, 45-60 min (no cardio)
Wed: Cardio, high intensity interval training, 60 min
Thurs: Upper body weights, 45-60 min (no cardio)
Fri: Lower body weights combined w/ cardio, 60+ min
Sat: Cardio, high intensity, 60 min
Sun: Rest day

I’m trying to get ideas for what I should do AFTER this rotation. Since this will be a split routine (never have done one for 8 weeks straight and I’m hoping to make some good gains), I was thinking of going further with a split next rotation. My ideas were to either use the Gym-Style series or the S&H series for a 3-way split. Then I had the idea of using the CTX series and doing a 5-way split, but I wasn’t sure if the CTX would be intense enough for continued gains after the rotation I’m planning, but maybe it is. The reason I’m asking is because I don’t have any of these DVDs and will have to plan ahead for the $ to order what I’ll need for my next rotation.

I’m considering an “endurance” rotation for next after these split rotations, but I guess that topic can wait for another day, LOL.

So… I guess my immediate questions are: (1) is the CTX series a good investment for an advanced exerciser looking to make good muscle gains? Or would splitting up either the Gym Style or S&H series into more body parts be a better idea/investment? And (2) Would you recommend the Gym Style series or the S&H series to do a 3-way split routine (and possibly to split further into a 6-way split routine)?

ALL and ANY ideas are welcome!!!!! Thanks so much!!!!

Bernadette,
I would recommend going with GS and/or S&H over CTX. You could make your own "CTX" using those series by splitting them into a 6 way split routine. S&H is my favorite of the 2, but they each do something different. GS is more muscle definition/building, S&H is more building muscle mass. They are both great and you will definately get results from each, just depends what you want. I've used both GS and S&H as both a 3-way and 6-way split and got wonderful results! I have used CTX and I know I'm one of the few, but I didn't get such great results, and also it is more muscle endurance than building. CTX is a half hour step/cardio and only working the muscle for about 10ish min. except legs. the other series work the muscle for a longer time with more excercises.
Hope this helps, Keep us posted!
