Spinning?

spinning

Because spinning has more of an interval intensity to it(although there are other ways in which spinning is delivered), I have decided to put it on the back burner until after the baby arrives.

However, as a non-pregnant exerciser, I enjoyed the benefits of spinning very much. I must admit though, that the workout itself is grueling and hard to push through. Its really the results that get me through it......burns major calories, tremendous cardiovascular challenge, and promotes great leg definition.

Hi Deandra!

Spinning is actually an indoor cycle program that requires a special bike. It started out as a workout that was only offered in health clubs/fitness studios etc. but has now made it into the homes.

To participate in a home indoor cycle program, you would first need to purchase a home studio cycle and then the best thing to do would be to purchase an indoor cycle video.

CLARIFICATION: I sometimes say "spinning" by accident, but spinning is actually a program designed by Johnny G. The true/generic terminology for spinning is indoor cycling .

To answer your last question. A good indoor cycling workout is anywhere from 30 minutes to 60 minutes depending on the specific ride that is offered. Please note, however, that these workouts are offered at at all different lengths. I have typically seen them offered for as short as 15 minutes and as long as two hours(in health clubs). Hope this helps!
