Soooo...I finally did Cardio Coach...OMG!

So we've had our elliptical since late January, and I finally downloaded a CC (Vol 7) yesterday and WOW it was so much fun. I don't know what the heck took me so long (actually I do--I was having fun listening to music on my ipod ;-) ).

The hour just flew by, and I worked so much harder than I do on my own, and it was just fun and inspiring! Just thought I'd share.

I'm so glad you liked it! I love CC too--but only for the Elliptical. If I use it on a Treadmill, I'll give myself a heart attack thinking I'm not working hard enough--don't ask me why. I guess I run harder than I "elliptisize". :p Another reason why I prefer iTreads--they tell me general speed guidlines and not just "zones" and PE.

But CC's are still wonderful!!!

I totally agree with Allison on this. I do enjoy CC though and Coach Sean made it all so personal on the workout. I loved "it's time to work off that ice cream" in Vol 3.

Question : are Cardio coach and iTread only available for ipod? I'm lagging behind in my tech gear!

Thanks all for sharing in my enthusiasm! It's so fun to try out something new and just fall in love with it. Michele, I just love you're emoticons--so hilarious! I know, it took like way too long. Some people are so stubborn! :p

Tricia, you can also download the workouts and burn them to a CD.

Just ordered an elliptical, now,.......what IS Cardio Coach?

It's an audio work out that guides you through a cardio work out on any machine. You can also take them for an outdoor run. There is music and the instructor tells you what you should be doing in terms of speed, resistance, hills, exertion, etc.

There's also ITrain which has work outs made specifically for the elliptical. The work outs are called IClimbs. Same idea as CC but very different in style.

HTH!

Tricia,

Both will work with any brand of Mp3 player.

Cardio Coach can also be purchased as CD.

With both iTunes and Cardio coach, you can get downloads and burn them yourself as CD or play them directly off your computer.

Question for Wendy and Vrinda: which iclimb workouts do you recommend the most? I looked at the site and have no idea what to start with. Thanks!

>CCs are DA Bomb!!!!!! :7 :7 :7 :7

I totally agree!! I had been running on my TM or elliptical with music and didn't think I needed CC. But I was getting bored with my music playlists and thought I would try one, CCPP. Well, now I have CCPP and volumes 2-7 and chomping at the bit for volume 8. I push myself much harder and the workout is over before you know it. My reward Sean's sexy voice...it just doesn't get any better than that!

I just downloaded 6 itrains using the buy 3 get 3 free deal. I haven't tried them yet but I listened to a few on a long drive to the cabin. They sound good too.

Have fun!

Amy,

There are three types of iClimbs. The first decision is which type to get:

a. Straight out cardio for a elliptical/stair stepper: Most iClimbs are in this category.
b. Outdoor climb: there is just one workout (last month's release) that is in this category - I dont have it. It is a guided workout for outdoor trekking.
c. Climb+Resistance training: A few iclimbs have intervals of resistance training or jump roping interspersed between working on the elliptical. These are a whole lot of fun and the equivalent of circuit training except the cardio is on the elliptical.

My favorites:
Category a. I like all iClimbs that are straight out cardio. You cannot go wrong with Keith Irace. So my favorites are based on those that have my favorite songs. I am also partial to workouts where Keith includes double time intervals (where you pedal fast and furious on the double time beat of the music for short intervals and then switch to pedaling in pace to the regular beat). iClimb Set 5,7,9 - 40 minute versions are those I reach out for often. IClimb Intervals Set 21 is a tough and sweaty workout with great songs too.

Category c. iClimb Surprise Set 11 is a super fun 40 minute workout with 4 intervals of resistance training. The off the elliptical intervals have jump squats, lunges and plyo lunges, overhead presses and lat rows - exercises that use large muscles and keep the heart rate high. iBiClimb Set 14 botcamp is an even better. It is intense and the most fun in the itrain library so far, in my opinion. The resistance training intervals work the entire body so it is like a complete workout. It is co-coached by Keith and Grace and they are in fabulous form and share a wonderful chemistry. The only issue is, some of the cardio intervals are on a treadmill and the rest are on the elliptical. I know that many folks modify to do all the cardio segments on just the treadmill or elliptical.

Let us know which you get and how you like it. :)

Thanks so much Vrinda for taking the time to share your favorites with me. I just bought iclimb 9 (the 40 minute workout) and I'm off to give it a try. I'll let you know what I think!

Thanks again Vrinda for your advice. iclimb 9 was an awesome workout. I liked it's shorter length and felt thoroughly worked out by the end. It started off moderate/easy but by the double time sprints and that last hill I was working soooo hard. LOVED IT!
