Wow, another one from the mountains of Southeast Tennessee! I used to visit Sewanee on party weekends in college
I lived in GA and NC too before moving to Chicago. Now I live in France. Not sure what that makes me, but I suppose I'm still a southerner at heart

I was born in Tallahassee and have lived in NC most of my life, but have never felt Southern. I put Yankee. I felt at home when I lived in MA and MI and NV. Is this cheating? I guess I went with "cultural", because genetically, I am from South Florida and it doesn't get more Southern than that. My father and his parents and grandparents were all born in Key West or Tampa.

Cross between hillbilly and rebel. I grew up in Missouri hills then moved to Corpus Christi, TX and now live near Houston, TX. We consider ourselves "redneck". My DH can sing every word to David Allen Coe's "My Long hair Just Won't Cover Up My Redneck..."

I from the country, and I like it that way.....
(1)I just got to say that it is not uncommon to see someones cow in the middle of the road where I live. Three times so far in the 4 years that we have lived in these backwoods has this happened.
(2) Hear and see your neighbor just holding his gun in the air and letting it go off for no apparent reason...freaks my dogs out all the time. LOL!
(3) Getting to a mall takes 1 hour
(4) When someone ask for directions, they always want to know the nearest cornfield (as if that is going to tell them how to get to your place)??? Or this one..."do you live by nancy, jane, howard, thelma"
(5) You set up an appt with an electrician to come out to your house and no one shows up. When you call, they are all out hunting. Guess they forgot? (This really happened too)
