Some more sad news

Laura, I'm so so sorry! I, too, have suffered the loss of a "best friend"! It's the most heartbreaking feeling in the world, and you feel so powerless to help your buddy that you've taken care of for so long! Know that the pain does ease, eventually, but as you said, you won't be the same!

So sorry to hear about Cosmo. He was so lucky to have you... sounds like you gave him a wonderful, beautiful, sweet life.

Laura, I'm so sorry for your loss. Our fur babies are members of our family and it is so very painful when their time comes.

I'm sorry. {{{hugs}}}

Laura:

I am so sorry for your loss. You have been on my heart for a week. I almost e-mailed you several times, but I could not bring myself to ask. I just had a feeling about this.

Cosmo was blessed to have you. I hope your other pets are comforting you.

Blessings,
Heather B.

(((((((((Laura)))))))))) I am so sorry for your loss, and I am crying with you. I know that doesn't make you feel any better, but at least know that you aren't alone.

Laura,

So sorry for your loss. How are your other animals dealing with all this? I don't know what my little kitty will do when my now 16 year old dog goes. Again, my condolences to you......

Laura,
I am so very sorry for your loss. I enjoyed hearing the tales of Cosmo. I know she'll be watching out for you.

Take care,

Oh, Laura, I am so sorry. I was dreading to read your post. I hadn't seen you post in a while so I thought something was up with Cosmo.

You had a very special friendship with the sweet old girl and I believe she will always be with you although she is no longer physically present.

I know what you mean by "things will never be the same". And I second the "take lots of pictures" statement, we didn't take many pictures of Jake and I wish we had.

I know things are very tough right now and nothing anyone says can ease the pain and the sense of loss you are experiencing.

Please take care of yourself! Just wanted to send you big hugs

Carola

Laura,

I'm so sorry for your loss. I'm shedding tears along with you.
Cosmo will aways be with you, just in another way.

"Grieve not, nor speak of me with tears;
but laugh and talk of me as if I were beside you,
I loved you so;
Twas Heaven with you."

I know how horrible it is having your pet put into eternal rest.
When I had to put my "Gretchen" to sleep, I torchered myself with feelings of guilt for a long, long time. My veterinarian assured me it was the right thing to do, as her passing naturally would have been a much more traumatic way for her to go that way.

I know how traumatic that day was for me and still is(as I'm am crying as I'm writing this).

Hugs coming your way.

LauraMax, there are just no words, are there? I'm so sorry. Please know that my thoughts are with you. The pain will subside, and what will be left are wonderful memories of a wonderful friend.

HUGS (mixed with tears)

Lauramax,
I am quite new here, but I just wanted to let you know that my heart goes out to you in your time of loss. Pets are such wonderful friends and companions and their loss is no less sad than the loss of a human family member or friend. Take comfort in the wonderful times you had together and cherish those memories forever.

I picked up Cosmo's ashes this morning. What a hard thing to do. I got all soppy at the vet's office.

I'm putting her right next to my bed where she slept every night for 16 years. Hoping it'll make me miss her a little less. :-( I'm still so ridiculously emotional about this whole thing.

Of course you're still emotional; this is a very hard thing you're going through. Sending more hugs and sweet thoughts for you and Cosmo.

I agree... after 16 years of unconditional love, of course you are still grieving.

We had to have a dog put down a few years ago. About a year later, I was reading a children's book called "Love That Dog" (Sharon Creech), and when I got to the last page it made be bawl for hours.

I'm glad you have found a way to keep Cosmo "near" you still.
