Social Groups problem

I belong to the General Hospital social group and I noticed yesterday when I posted a comment that it took me back to the very first page. It did it again today. Why is that happening? Was something changed?

Thread order

Nothing has been changed on our part. Did you try clicking on 'Last Post' in the header while in your Social Group? This will reverse the thread order from oldest to newest or visa versa depending on what you have currently selected.

Last thread does not work. Clicking First thread will send me back to where I want to be but the point is until a couple of days ago I never had to do that. When I click to submit my post, I was taken to the current post instead of now where I am being takien back to post from 2009.

I naturally (as did FitnessFreak) assume something had change over the course of the last few days otherwise why would this be happening to more than just one group.

My group is the Fitness Favorites group by the way.

I also belong to the Xtrainers group. Even though no one post there anymore. I just tested that group with a test message and same thing. It takes me back to earlier post instead of the current post.

Thanks
Saundra

Last Post

I'm not sure if you understood what I'm saying or if I'm understanding you correctly?

The header to your social group does not have a "first Post", it only has a "last Post" with a drop down arrow. Clicking on this arrow will reverse the sort order of the post in your social forum. Is this what you did?

It doesn't allow you to click on "last post", it sends you back to page 1 after you submit a reply and then you have to get out of the group, click back on the group and then it automatically takes me to the last page. Try it, go to one of the groups, post something and see where it takes you. It never did this before and I haven't changed a thing.

Thanks for posting Saundra!

Okay I understand now what you are talking about now, but that is not what FitnessFreak and I are talking about. What you are talkling about reverses the "threads".

What I am saying:
Is within a thread (the one I actively participate) there has been 3771 and we have 379 pages.
When I first open the page, I see the most current post. Once I write a post and hit submit, when the page refreshes it takes me to page 378 (or around that) instead of the first page with the most current post.

On the bottom of the page where it saids "Page 378 of 379 << First < 278 328 368 376 377 378 379 >" I have to click on First to take me back to the current post. This is what has changed. Before it would always take me to the most current post.

I think some of the confusion came with terminology. Hopefully that is clear to what the problem is.
Thanks for looking into this.

Actually, what it does is after you click on post to post your reply, it takes you back to page 1 but shows that you are actually on the last page. It's weird and very annoying.

So to recap: I get into my General Hospital group, it takes me directly to the last post, which is correct, I go down to the bottom of the screen (which is also annoying) to post my comments, I click on post and then it redirects me to the very first page but shows that I am still on the last page.

The same thing is happening to all the members of our group, The Daily Grind. When we click on our social group it takes us to the most current page (listed as page 1) but when we submit a post, the screen goes all the way back to initial page when the group was started (listed as page 1254). In order to get back to the most current page, we have to click on first. Also, we have noticed the word permalink next to the date/time and wondered what that means.

I'd like to know that too. The ball was just dropped on this. It's still VERY annoying to post and then go back to page 1. Why is it doing that?

Social Groups

We will eventually circle back and take a another look at this, but when we looked at this a few weeks ago we didn't see any settings that we could change that would fix this issue. We haven't done any work on this part of our forums so it's currently a mystery right now to what is causing it.

Right now our PHP developer is finishing Challenges and then has to move on to Spam Prevention which is becoming a major time consuming problem for us. After that I'll see if he can figure this out.
