so who's done the Insanity Fit Test?

Question on the switch kicks: Are you counting every kick or every pair of kicks. In other words does a right and then left kick count as 1 or 2?

I counted pairs. I started on right leg and counted the right kicks. Right kick one- left kick- right kick 2.

I hope that was right.

It really shouldn't matter as long as you count the same way next time. I would think it would be easier to count on just one leg without losing track... I was just curious so I can know how much I truly suck when I do my test. :eek: I'm kidding, of course. I'm in this to do MY best. I'm looking to compete with myself and not anyone else.

I counted my kicks the same way - there was no way that I could have counted one leg at a time. I think the counting part was almost as hard as the fit test - I think that was a mental test. I had a very hard time counting the global jumps - I know jump to rt side, then back , then jump to left side then front counted as one. I just got kind of confused as to which way I was jumping a few times!

FYI.. I just noticed the calender actually does tell you 2 kicks = 1 rep for the kicks. I didn't pay any attention at all to the diagrams. They show you all of the fit test moves. :eek:

Power knees: 95
Power jumps: 53
Globe jumps: 8
Suicide jumps: 25
Push-up jacks: 8 (push-ups have always been my weak point :eek:)
Low Plank Oblique: 85

I am previewing Plyometric Cardio Drills right now and I can't wait! Here is the discussion I've been having with my boyfriend about it:

Me: This looks awesome.
BF: This is totally NOT awesome. It's crazy. They haven't had a break yet! What's up with that?
Me: It's still the warmup - they can't take a break in the middle of the warmup.
BF: No way. This is the workout.
Me: No - look at the little counter thingie. It's the warmup!
BF: I can tell you right now that I will not be doing this with you.

That conversation was somethng like the one my DH and I had, except, he says he will try it with me. We are starting STS on Monday and Insanity. We'll see how it goes!
 
INSANITY!!!

Hi everyone ..... ok so i am new to this but i just started Insanity yesterday and i almost passed out. It totally kicked my butt but (haha) it is sooooo exciting! i have never had anything ever beat the crap outa me.

so if anyone has seen of tested any progress it'll be kool to read. I'll post my stats tom when i have it on me!

Me too...I started on Monday and it totally kicked my butt!!! I am loving it so far and Shaun T is awesome. My first fit test is:
switch kicks 70
power jacks 64
power knees 101
power jumps 48
globe jumps 11
suicide jumps 26
push up jacks 36
low plank obliques 40 (counted both legs as 1)

I'm doing the program as is this week and will probably add some weights next week.
 
ok so Day 2 ...... Butt Kicked once more but worse. i have set a new goal ..... FINISH A WORKOUT ALL THE WAY THROUGH!!!! i had to stop for a good 8 min cause i was going to pass out ... litterally. it was in the last circuit round 2. when he goes from standing to plank moves i feel like my head starts burning like all the boiling blood rushes to my head. i dont get dizzy but kind of nervous.... what is this? any suggestions? will it go away?

im still super excited about day 3 but i cant walk lol. my savior .... excedrin back and body. it helps get through work!!

Insanity is definitely a headwrecker! I did it for about 2 weeks with 0 results and jumped back to Cathe, because I got quicker results with her. My hubby still uses it for his cardio days though.
 
Good question. I've done Cardio Plyo circuit several times and when I viewed Cardio Power & Resistance I thought they were very much the same. I didn't get that feeling when I did CP&R this morning.
Pure cardio scares the crap out of me!:eek: I don't see any breaks.
I'll be ready to take a cardio break tomorrow and hit the pure cardio after.

My jeans were fitting loser today.:D These 40 minute workouts pack such a big punch I think I'll stay motivated. At least for the summer months.

I was wondering how do you do the rotation, I'm on the 3rd week I've been skipping a day of it, because I'm doing sts in between, I did had knee surgery almost 4 years ago and I'm still afraid of getting hurt, so all that high impact workout I'm doing it but very careful, I'm doing good so far.
I don't see the necessary of doing the fit test. So i'm not worry about I did the first one and I was very close to the girl.
But I have to said,I'm feeling pretty good. I don't think my jeans are loose, but I feel my body different.



COUNTING DAYS.;)
6 weeks till my DH get back home.

um i have really bad knees too and im worried about the impact but so far its been better than running. when i ran on ground or tredmill and right away my knees would ache ... arthritus.... and as long as i land right im pretty fine i guess.
