So I inflated my stability ball more last night....

and sat down on it...my butt is still below my knees a bit and when I poke at it with my finger it doesn't appear to have 2 inches worth of "give" to it so I am afraid to inflate it more. GRRRR!

What a pain in the neck this thing is! I guess I'll try inflating it just a tad more tonight and see what happens...I also laid down on it as if to do ab work on it and it's gonna take some getting used to! You should have seen me trying to figure out HOW to get on to it to begin with! LMAO! Must have been a sight!:+

Have a great work out!

Inflate. Inflate! They take a lot of air and they're tougher than you think - at least mine have taken a lot of abuse by children and teenage boys and they've never burst. The ones at a gym I was at last week were inflated so tight you couldn't push them in a bit. Inflate!

Of course that's just my opinion!

Hi Wendy,

I don't think you have to be as meticulous about the butt-knee level as you're being. After all, at no time when you are using it are you going to be standing on it - unless that's in store for us in Core Max LOL! Using the stability ball will consist of either lying on it, or holding it in your hands. I can't think of any move in any of her workouts where the level between the butt and knee is relevant to the safety of the move, or has consequences for your form. The tension in the ball is more important, so if you have inflated it to the degree recommended, then you're good to go! And yes, it does take some getting used to!

Cheers,
Sandra

Isn't that funny!! I'm always afraid of bursting mine:eek: x(

I think I just need a larger ball. Right now I have 55cm and think I really need 65cm

Well I don't know where ya'll got your stability ball, I bought mine from Power-System.... I am 5'2" and my ball is 55cm, I tried a 65cm, but it was to tall for me...
And you may not be standing on it but there are exercises where you need to sit on it with weights, at one point my ball didn't have enough air in it, and I sat on it with the barbell on my shoulders, and my butt level was lower than my knees and I could not get up until I put the barbell down on the floor first.
So you do what you want, I am just giving advice:7 ....Rhonda:7

Your post made me laugh.....The stability ball may not be the best prop to be sitting on while your're pregnant. A step bench would be more stable. Just a word of caution, please be careful on the ball.

Rhonda! your story about not being able to get up from the stability ball with your weights reminds me of a story.

Not with a Stability Ball but a "Bean Bag". Does anyone remember those 80's "everyone had to have one" chair?

Anyway..........I was 8 months pregnant with my second child and my back was killing me, so I sat down in the "bean bag".

Bad bad mistake. I couldnt get up again with the weight of my belly

My first child was 3, so she was NO help in pulling me up. Infact she just gigled and pointed at me sitting there repeating "lazy mummy, lazy mummy"

Thank god DH arrived home about 30 minutes later and heaved me up, nearly putting out his OWN back in the process.

MORAL for all pregnant woman. Dont sit in "Bean Bags"
