So basically diet is the best way to lose body fat?

I was just wondering what exactly looks like a clean diet? I have figured that this is the cornerstone to fat loss. I think I have been eating clean but am not sure about a few foods. Are fruits considered clean?WHAt about popcorn just air popped? I hope that I do not sound naive but I really want to lose fat the right way through diet and hopefully following a proper exercise plan. THank you so much :)

Imafitnessfreak/Sarah can steer you in the right direction. I'm a "clean eater" but she provided some information where even after one day of implementing her suggestions I can feel a difference. I'm eating alot, but it's not excessive calories and the way she suggested I combine things, well, I'm not feeling hungry when it's time to eat again.

I am sure lots of folks will pop in with their input, but I wanted to say that IMHO clean eating does NOT include breakfast cereal, unless it is old fashioned oatmeal or irish oats etc.

Clean means unprocessed. They are more filling and in theory you would eat more proper portions. IMHO I do not think portion control measuring should go out the window though. Portion control is huge for fat loss. Even when you are eating clean.

Fresh fruit therefore is clean. I would think airpopped non microwaved popcorn would be clean? Some folks say that yogurt and cheese are not clean but I personally think nonfat plain unsweetened yogurt is ok, and milk. Bread would have to be whole grain (I don't know any brand names though, a lot of the whole wheat I eat still says refined flour on it).
 
my daughter is doing WW Core plan - it's really healthy food - actually pretty much clean eating. For carbs we are having brown rice, taboli, etc and no white flour or sugar. I'm not trying to lose weight but I feel SO Much better.
