Snowstorm people, represent!!!

Not too much accumulation here (about 2 inches), but the weather says we'll have a mix of sleet & ice all day.

I live 2 blocks from work. A blessing and a curse......I have no excuse not to be here. On the other hand it's easy for me to be here.

The good news is they'll probably cancel our council mtg tonight, which means my 15 hour day will turn into a nice, normal, relaxing & productive 8 hour day. :) :) :) :) :) :)

Montgomery County, MD, has lots of ice. Not a lot of snow, but I think ice can be more dangerous.

No school today.

Not much accumulating here just north of NYC but a nasty mix of ice, sleet, & snow here. I hear the pellets hitting the window. It is supposed to continue all day into tomorrow. We are definitely not going anywhere today. No way am I trying to drive on icey roads, especially with my toddler. We'll veg today and hopefully I'll get in some Cathe time while my son naps.

Peter: Oh my god, Brian, there's a message in my Alphabits. It says, 'Oooooo.'
Brian: Peter, those are Cheerios.

We have about 10 inches and it's still snowing. All schools are closed so I get the day off. Love it!!! I can actually work out at a normal time of day, not 4:30 in the morning!! I will go get my hair cut later, because the salon is right down the street...that is if the salon is open.

We ended up with only 8" of snow and a good layer of ice on top of that. I am completely stuck at the moment though. Our driveway is about 300' long (gravel) and my husband is busy trying to find someone to plow it out. No way are we going to be able to shovel all of that! He did try to drive his car through it (what we usually resort to) but the snow is so hard and frozen now that he didn't even get his car backed out of the garage without getting stuck. My day job is pretty much closed down because the roads are horrible, but I'm still supposed to work at the restaurant tonight. We'll see if that happens... Everyone who has to drive - be CAREFUL!

My hubby is stuck in New York City until this weekend, or maybe Monday! There are no flights out of the city, everything is just crazy!

We got about 8 inches or so here in southeastern Michigan. Snow day for the kids. And my hunky DH is off clearing others' driveways and parking lots! I'm a snow widow in the winter:-( Hopefully he'll get home for a few hours before having to go out again tonight.

Enjoy your day off all!!

School (university) was closed here both yesterday and today (but me with my Minnesota genes, I didn't check the radio/tv and didn't think things were THAT bad, so I showed up both days! LOL! The wimps around here!).

I'm in North Carolina... what's snow?? It is 52 degrees and sunny here... I know, I know... I'm getting out of the thread!:p

LOL...:7 Becky! :+ :7 ..... in a more serious tone... I do hope all of you stay safe. I know all too well what inclement weather can bring...

i would love to treck snow at least one day in my life! i've always wondered what it feels like.

Shelly- I am HOME & officially DONE shoveling for the next few days... or at least I hope! ;-) I did about 30 more minutes when I got home today...more cosmetic stuff than anything, like the back deck. I now have piles of where I am putting the white cr*p I shoveled that are like 4 feet tall so it'll be July before it melts but hey, it's not in my driveway anymore!

I can't believe my office didn't close yesterday or today. We had about 1/4 staff there yesterday and maybe 1/2, probably less there today. The building I work in is all Wells Fargo but I think we have close to 700 people there so being at 1/4 to 1/2 staff is a lot of people gone!

I am just SO excited to know that I will not have to dig myself out for an hour tomorrow morning before I can drive to work!

What are they saying in your area? When is it supposed to let up? Maybe you'll have another snow day tomorrow? :D

We didn't get much snow here in Montgomery Co. PA. Just a few inches covered with ice. Dh picked up a shovel and a bag of salt on his way home from work since our shovel broke awhile ago. Our driveway still needs shoveling. Dh is drained from working a ton of overtime this week. Hopefully, ds will do it later when he's finished shoveling other people's driveway for money. If not, I gotta cancel dd's art lesson scheduled early tommorrow morning. Ah, well. It's not enough to tempt me to go out in that cold!

well, here in brooklyn, i dont know how much we got. no where near as much as many of you. however, the winds and ice storms are horrible. i was supposed to go out and see clients, but they expect more freezing rain. think it is best to do a make up session.

gee....i hear cathe calling me to the step...
