The people who recommended this book in one of the book discussions, I just have to say THANK YOU SO MUCH. Oh, I loved reading this book. It was so beautiful and I couldn't put it down. I even went online and read all kinds of stuff about nu shu and footbinding. I am now starting on another book of hers, Peony in Love. Thanks again for the recommendation. I have read so many other great books that I wouldn't have even known about had it not been for all of you on this site. So let's keep the discussions going!!! Happy reading!

Toni,what kind of other books have your read? I need to get back into reading now that my DH works nights. I just put snowflower and the secret fan on hold at my local library!

Anybody else have a good book that they would recommend?

I'll have to check out the mentioned book out. I'm an avid reader, and am always looking for more books.

If you haven't read The Glass Castle by Jeannette Walls or Three Little Words by Ashley Rhodes-Courter, you must run out today and get these two AMAZING memoirs.

Or if you like a great fiction read that you can't put down, check out anything by Jodi Picoult. She just came out with a new one. She is just a beautiful writer. One of those people who have a true gift.

OH! I LOVE book discussions! In fact, tonight is my Book Club meeting. We read and will discuss Water for Elephants. It's based inthe Circus, so my best friend (who is hosting the meeting) and I are making circus food. SO let me borrow his hot dog turner and cotton candy maker. So this afternoon we'll be spinning and bagging some cotton candy. Doesn't that sound like SO MUCH FUN! I can't wait! We're also buying roasted peanuts and I picked up some popcorn bags (the circus-kind) and I'll pop popcorn for them! I'm excited.

I'm also currently reading the "culinary mystery" series by Diane Mott Davidson. The whole series is light and fun to read. I just mentally can't move onto anything else until I'm all done with the series! LOL I think I have 5 books left to go!

Snow Flower WAS AN AWESOME book, and I like Peony in Love as well.

And I agree about The Glass Castle too! Another good one!
