SNM -- CK Sales for Canadians???

Hi SNM! Will you all be arranging a pre-sale with CK Sales? I am itching to order, but prefer to use CK Sales as the duty charged at the border is very costly.

Thank you so much for continuing to raise the bar with DVD technology. I am truly awestruck!

Oh yes, they sent a newsletter, and I hopped over there and pre ordered, I haven't even done all of the intensity series yet. Oh well more to learn

Hi Willow,

My husband and I are in the process of moving to Canada from the US. I've just pre-ordered the Body Blast DVD's. I'm having them sent to my husbands parents place in Canada as we don't yet have a place there. After reading your post I'm kind of worried about duty. How much is it and what is CK sales? Any info you can provide would be much appreciated.

Thanks

Carla

Hi Carla, you would absolutely be better off cancelling with Cathe and ordering with CK Sales instead. CK Sales is Cathe's distributor up here (www.cksales.com). If you are shipping within Canada, they are MUCH cheaper.

Unfortunately for us Canadians, any time we recieve a product from outside the country, we must pay all taxes (GST & PST) as well as a customs brokerage fee. (The latter is only $5 if mailed via the post office, but UPS charges us almost $30 for the difficult task of bringing stuff over the border x( ). Duties are these fees as well as further taxes charged ON TOP of this. These extra taxes seem to depend on the origin of the item, what its value is, and what the item is. Different items are covered differently under NAFTA (North American Free Trade Agreement). I don't understand it, to be honest, and it doesn't seem to be consistent.

The exchange rate also sucks for us, so I never order anything from the States if I can help it! It's rather annoying, really, but most stuff can be found here eventually.

FYI, products ordered from Collage Video don't seem to ever have duties applied (just the usual sales taxes).

I might be wrong on some of the above. To be sure, check out Canada Customs at http://www.ccra-adrc.gc.ca .

HTH!! :) Willow

A further assurance -- CK Sales is a very good company. They are very fast and offer pretty good customer service. IIRC, they get Cathe's videos the moment they are released.

Hi Carla:

I second Willow's suggestion re cancelling your initial order and ordering from CK Sales.

The taxes and duties of SNM videos coming into Canada are astronomical!!! I seem to recall I had to pay an extra $60C cash when they were delivered to my office.

CK Sales is excellent. Very quick delivery and courteous service. (I got The Intensity series over the Xmas holidays and they'd just been released!)

Hi Carla,
I too am from Canada and have ordered all of Cathe's DVDs from CK Sales. They are an excellent company that processes and ships orders really fast (they're in Alberta and I live all the way across the country in Ontario). They have great customer service too.:7

They have the BEST customer service, they offered to send me a DVD for a replacement of a vhs tape! how is that for customer service, the tape I bought was defective so they offered me three options, to have another title, to have the same one in DVD no difference in price to me, or a refund, I offered to wait for the VHS, that is what I really want, I don't even think to order from anywhere else. They really are the best! Jack and Cindy will do anything to make sure you are happpy and satisfied

Another good thing about ordering through cksales is that your cc isn't charged until the order ships!! Even on the Cathe pre-sale.
