Sneaker Recommendation

Fembot

Cathlete
Does anyone have advice on sneakers that can take some of
the impact of hard surface aerobics? You all know how high
impact most of Cathe's workouts are and I would never change
to low impact, so I'm all little paranoid of injury now that
I'm on cement surface. If anyone has a recommendation, it
would be greatly appreciated. I will check our local Nike
store, but am sure they will direct me to the most expensive,
not most effective.

Thanks in advance,

Tina

RE: Ryka Supra

The Ryka Supra is really a cute shoe. A girl in one of our classes wears them and I really like them. I go for looks just as much as comfort. I dont care for the Freddy shoes. I saw a girl wearing them and thought they looked "funny". I am glad I never ordered them. I ended up getting a pair of New Balance and they feel wonderful. I think they would be great for high impact but I dont think they would last very long. Of course at a price of about $40 a pair, you can afford a new pair every six months.

Thanks for the recommendation. I called a local Lady
Foot Locker and they have one pair in my size. I'm
picking them up tomorrow.:7 :7

RE: Ryka Supra

That's great Tina! Let us know how you like them. You'll see how comfy they are as soon as you try them on. I agree about the Freddy shoes. I have a pair of them also and they're so stiff. The Supras are much better.

No shoe recommendations here, but I suggest getting some kind of mat (like the interlocking mats sold at Home Depot) to put over your cement surface. Even the best-padded shoes wouldn't have enough cushioning power to offset the hard surface.

I'll second that opinion. For the sake of your joints, I hope you can find a better and more forgiving surface to work out on. Till then, try those mats. Good luck!

Danielle,

I picked up my Supras yesterday and I love them, and as
an added bonus, they had $15 off on Rykas.:7 I tested
them out with Imax Extreme yesterday, and they're
awesome. There is alot of cushioning in the front of
the foot and I could really feel the difference from
my old sneakers. The sales person recommened that in
six months I should purchase some shock absorbing
inserts. She also said to never wear the Supras outside
as they're only made for indoor use. Our workout room
floor is all installed and it looks all brand new. Now
all I need is the Body Blast series to top it all off.
:7 :7 Thanks again for the advice!

Tina,

You're welcome...that's so great!!! I didn't know they were only meant for indoors. I've never worn mine outside though. I like them so much, I didn't want to get them dirty. :D That's good to know.

I'm so glad you like them!

P.S. I also agree with what the others said about getting mats for your cement floor.
