Wendy, I started WW about 7 years ago just before DH was diagnosed. I lost about 35 pounds! It was based on the points system and now that I'm a life member, I've gone back a few times when 8-10# have creeped on and I wanted/needed a new approach to staying accountable. 6# is NOT a silly reason to start it. I think it's a great program and helps you learn to balance the whole foods with the non-whole goodies we want every now and then. Great job!
And yeah, I never refuel during a long run. However, I've been trying a few, A FEW, things over the last few long runs and am learning (the hard way) that it's a NECESSITY! Yesterday's run was not good...not only the horrible rainy conditions nor the hills, just the energy level was NILL and I was stooooopid to try to do 20 without gels or SOMETHING. Anyway.......waiting for the teenager to wake up then I'm taking the boys to the state park for some hiking.
