SNAZZY, are you.....

Me too! :) I also want to know Snazzy are you a horse person too? I am a completely horse crazy gal, I have owned 2 exracers, did competitive Hunters for 15 years, lost my best friend of 13 years ago to founder. Taking a horse break which is killing me, finances ya know.

NO, no, I'm not MsFit! I am, however, one of her e-consultation clients. She has helped me so much with the nutrition piece, that I want to scream from the rooftops about her site!!

I go by CalorieAssasin on her forum. I just posted 4 week progress photos (I'm in her meltdown challenge) on the Members Pictures thread on that site. So you can see, I am definitely not her, and I DEFINITELY have a long way to go with my physique before I can compete.

YES, yes, I am a horseperson!!! I'm just crazy about our horses. I barrel race, and my husband team ropes. He is much more successful than I am, even though we are both amateurs. LOL I'm hoping with all the lifting I've been doing this winter, I'll come back a stronger rider. (we give the horses the winter off, here in Eastern WA. too cold, too dark to ride)

I'm addicted to Cathe now! I reviewed my nutrition plan with MsFit to make sure we incorporate enough calories to cover my Cathe and my own weight workouts, without me burning off my hard earned muscle. She was very supportive of me doing Cathe's workouts in addition to what I had been doing, so I'm a happy camper. I can't wait to see what I look like in the next 4 weeks!

Hey Snazzy,

You look GOOD. Pretty soon you will be competition bound!:)

This program you are doing, can you tell me a little about it? Is it like your typical calorie reduction thing? Are you paying for it? In what ways has it helped you?

I have the nutrition know-how, I lack the implementation, so I always wonder if these types of programs would help me anyway.....

Thanks Janice!

It's not calorie reduction at all...not yet anyway. (Cutting calories will come in the final weeks before show time, to really shrink the skin down onto the muscles, and rid the last of the fat. Right now, I'm building some muscle, but not going so far as to "bulk"...making the most of what I have, I guess you could say.)

Each week I get my meal plan from MsFit, and it tells me how many calories to eat at each meal, and how many grams protein, fat, and carb to consume in those calories. It's a specific formula. It's my job to create a menu that I can eat, that will follow those guidelines. I like this, because no matter how much someone tells me to "eat tuna", I'm just not going to do it, because I loathe it! LOL However, MsFit will give me a sample menu, if I have trouble coming up with the proper combinations on my own.

I'm eating around 1500 calories per day, consumed in 5 meals of about 300 calories each. EAch of those meals MUST be balanced...must have protein, fat, and carbs. Also, the majority of it MUST come from real food...no protein bars/powders/whatever on a regular basis. Whole quality food. I eat a lot of egg whites, chicken breast, fish, turkey, natural peanut butter, flax oil, walnuts, brocolli, spinach, oatmeal....you get the idea.

Yes, I pay for e-consultations. You can buy any number of them, so if your funds are limited, you can pay as you go. If you buy 3 consults, that could take you 6 weeks or more, depending on how your body responds. So it doesn't necessarily equate to 3 consults = 3 weeks. Rather than risk quoting incorrect rates, I'll refer you to the link, www.theelitephysique.com/consultations/. There are lots of different plans available.

It has helped me, because for the first time in my life, the scale is barely budging, but I'm dropping body fat and starting to look cut. *starting*, remember (go see my pics, lol) I've worn a size 5 my whole life...I'm now in size 3 jeans, for example.

I knew what good, clean food was, but I didn't know how to make it work for me. She has me cycling my carbs right now....so some days I'll have starchy carbs with every meal but one. By the end of the week, I'll be having more non-starchy veggie carbs (brocolli, etc) for my carbs, and she ups the protein and fat. I didn't have the science to make the food work for shedding my bodyfat. That's what I' m getting out of it.

Hope this helps! :)

Hey Snazzy, that helped alot.

What "transformation" are you doing? I notice the link you provided me lists them by name. The bodybuilding one looks good. Can you also give me a typical meal that you eat with this plan?

In addition, what is your workout schedule like? Can you map that out for me in a typical week, including Cathe tapes? I really appreciate it!:)

She individualizes, so I kinda fit in between categories, LOL. I'm sorta contest prep, fat loss, bodybuilding all rolled into one!

Typical meal is 3.5 oz chicken breast, 4 oz sweet potato, 1/2 tablespoon natural peanut butter.

Right now, I'm trying a Cathe rotation for 14 days (following the January rotation Cathe posted as best I can with the DVDs I have [BB, Intensity, RS, + a couple others]), then I'll go back to heavy weights on my own....squat 100# for 4 reps, deadlift 80# for 4 reps, bench press 60#, 4 reps, etc. As heavy as I can lift for 4-6 reps, working opposing muscle groups and each bodypart hit once per week. Nordic track for cardio...starting with 20 minutes, increasing daily to 45 minutes. At least one day off, if not two, and one cheat meal per week...anything I want.

You look awesome! I emailed Karen and asked her some questions. Also I see you are in Washington too? Like Debra123 and me!

Thanks Jo!! Yes, I'm in the Yakima Valley. Where are you and Debra123? I don't run into many WA folks on these boards.

I am in Woodinville which is on the Seattle Eastside. Debra is in Burlington. I just found out today Debra is a Washington girl and now you! Two in one day - whoohoo! I thought I was out her by myself! :) :)

Ha-Ha ! My school computer won't let me see your pictures, Snazzy, because our filter-ware descibes them as "NUDITY"!!!!! Just what is IN those pictures, girl???

SNAZZY,
I just spend the last 45 minutes at the website. You look great!
Definately seeing the definition in your lats.

This makes me think, do you think that the econsultation is easy to follow?? I am thinking about something like this, i know i can't be left to my own food making decisions}(
However, i need more than "you need 50%protein 10% carb etc....
I need actual FOODS< and actual calories.

I've read about carb cycling and how effective it is for uncovering the definition.

Thanks!! The e-consult is easy to follow when you're ready. How's that for an answer? LOL But the reason I say that is because I'm a recovering sugar addict. I bought my first consults back in October, when I thought I was ready. I cheated terribly with sugar, and had to admit that when I would report back in. Each week I got better and better. Finally I entered the 'Meltdown Challenge' on 1/3/05, and I haven't had a cheat except on cheat day. That's why I can see changes in the last 4 weeks. I'm still working out hard, but I'm very faithful to the diet.

Also, she'll provide you with a sample menu when you first get started, and if you need help when things get changed up. I hadn't asked for a sample menu in a long time, but with the change in my diet this week I cried 'uncle' and had her send me a sample menu so I could see what I should be eating foodwise. Sometimes I make substitutions, if there is something I don't like or don't have on hand. I just make sure I get as close as I can to the calories and macros as were in the original foods.
