Slow and Heavy vs Pyramids

Hey, everyone! Anyone out there care to sell me on the virtues of one versus the other? I need some new weight workouts, and I want something that will really pack on the muscle! I already have Power Hour, Muscle Endurance, Pure Strength Series, CTX and MIS.

So- which do you think is a better choice for me right now? The Slow and Heavy series or Pyramids?

Thanks!
Denise

If you want a great strength workout I recommend the S & H dvd. the S & H is perfect to gain strength because the slow and control manner cathe uses during these workouts.I have a dilemma because I love the PLB segment in the stability ball.

Hi Denise:)
While I LOVE Pyramids. I would recommend S&H to you because it is something SO different from what you already have. I think you getting slow and heavy would really shake things up for you!! Hope this helps.

Hi, Denise:

I had to make this same decision recently, and I went with the pyramids... partially because the entire Intensity series came as a reasonably priced package ($159 including the Terminator), but partially because I looked at the clips on the DVD page and knew the Pyramids were more the style of training I wanted. S&H look to me to be more gym-style workouts, which I already do in a freestyle manner in the gym... but from what you wrote, they may be the better choice for you.

Good luck!

Take care,
Marie

I would say s&h.I love the pyrmids but they go fast I personaly modify that dvd using heavy (the same wt)through the whole exercise and allowing more rest so my set would be 12-10-8-6-4 instead of 12-10-8-10-12.Right now I'm doing s&h but not as slow as cathe and going really heavy I love the min. rest.I can bust out all the 8 reps that way.I plan on sticking with this one for a while if the hardcore's don't have enough rest(like ps) I might have to sell them.I love the rest I wish ps had a longer rest period. Some do find s&h boring but I don't.

Denise,
I would go for Slow & Heavy for muscle mass. The Pyramids are great for definition and maybe a change. With S&H you can really concentrate on the muscles you are working and up the weight. The Pyramids are pretty fast paced with little rest between sets. I do like the Pyramids too. It helped me to define my muscles and for some reason helped get over a shoulder injury. I think because it is pretty light on the shoulder work.
