Slimming thighs and legs

Hi Honeybunch and thanks for your answer, so basically, just something that you can squeeze and Kathleen, it is a small world, there is another person in the Catskill area, not sure if she is on this forum, but I've talked with her on the Firm forum. Her name is Laura. Have a great Sunday everyone. Mary

Mary,
I just moved to near where Lladyhawk lives in Central New York from North Greenbush, NY--I lived there for 27 years--we were neighbors and did not know it! My parents and my SO's parents still live there so I am there all the time on the weekends! It is nice to have another NY person on the forum!

Hi Cruncholi, I know we have talked on the forum before, it really is a small, small world. I don't want to put too much detail on here, but I live right off Third Ave Extension, so we were really close. We'll have to try to meet sometime, just to put a face with the name. That would be fun. Have a great Labor Day. Mary

I just wanted to congratulate you ladies on your success. Honeybunch, reading about your workout schedule & eating plan is very inspirational. I too have heard about the protein/carbo connection and have started this plan myself. It is supposed to keep your blood sugar/brain chemicals in balance to reduce cravings, mood swings, etc.

I sometimes get frustrated when I don't see results right away. I have been running 3x per week for a year now and have seen absolutely no results in my body shape or weight (just a recurring sore knee)! I am now concentrating on Cathe tapes & have to find the time to do it more often - my goal is 5 to 6 days per week.

Take care,
Sandra

Your message made me very motivated! I hate watching my leg muscles get bigger under the chub and felt like quiting any weights alltogether. My diet is a problem and so is sitting at a desk all day. I am great about working out 6 days a week and feel I may change things around a bit based on your messages. I am 31 and look forward to improving with hard work. Thanks HB! Best Regards... Ellen in Nevada

Hey Ellen in Nevada!
You are so right on, I got on the forum late tonight because I've felt a little dicouraged. My muscles have looked more toned but the marshmallow on top is frustrating. I know what I need to do(cut back on the carbs) it's so hard. I've been working out about 5 days a week since the beggining of the year and I have two weeks where I do good with my diet but as soon as PMS comes I'm not content until I have some type of sweets (not fruit). Reading honey bunch's post is very encouraging! (You see, as soon as I wrote honey bunch I automatically thought of Honey bunches of Oats, which I LOVE!) Boy I got a real problem don't I?
Any how I got off track there, I do know forsure that it's all about counting calories with the right types of food of course and by heavier weight plates. Okay I feel a little better now and ready for tommorrow's work out. Thanks, Miss Mare

RE: Hey Ellen in Nevada!

I try to eat carbs and protein but because of my sweet tooth probably overdose on carbs. My mom is a carbo junkie and has always been very heavy, even obese at times. She now follows a diabetes diet and is losing weight very quickly. She eats protein and carbs at every meal. I had some luck on Weight Watchers but since I would pick the wrong foods to stay within my points, I did not get proper nutrition. The more I read the more I am concerned with free radicals and giving my body appropriate rest. I could stand to lose 10 pounds which really bugs me but I am not going to try a goofy diet to get the weight off. I am always nervous with weights because I can gain muscle riduculously quickly. And with short legs, that doesn't look too good.
