Slim N 6

Cathlete
Okay, I know this is not Cathe, but has anyone tried this program? On the informercials she says she has set it up to really slim people down. Has anyone tried this program?

I've wanted to buy this program for a long time now but I hear they are refilmining it, I think it's due out in August so I will wait and see. But yes it's been discussed here in these forums. some like it some don't. I hear they can be monotonous.
I do have 2 workouts in the Slim Series. I like them but they are long. I think the SI6 workouts are shorter.

I tried it a year or two ago. Honestly I found it very repetitive and boring, especially after Cathe and couldn't stick with it. I kept some of them and used them intermittently but eventually I got rid of all of them because they had become dust collectors. But it's good if you're having a day where you're not feeling up to Cathe's intensity and it probably does work if you can stick to the program for the whole time.

Thanks guys, I didn't know she was filming another series, maybe I'll wait. Maybe the other series will be shorter in duration. I need the constant repetitive slimming technique, although I don't like to be bored. I do have staying power if the program works.

I think Slim in 6 is a very effective program. I had great success with it. I am actually one of the women in the new informercial that's airing now. I lost 13 lbs and over 20 inches in the first 6 weeks. Yes I agree with the above poster that it can get a little repetitive. I found using different background music helped because the music is pretty boring and yes Debbie is in the process of filming an updated version. She has not said how different it will be though but she did say that the music will be much improved. I also use the tapes especially Burn it Up when I travel. It's a good full body workout that only requires the use of bands that gives a nice calorie burn. Hope that helps.

There is also the Slim Series which is the more advanced version of Slim in 6.
Just something to consider...:)

I have Slim in 6. I didn't stick with it because it is so boring. I used to be able to do boring videos but since I discovered Cathe I just can't any more. I am sure it works if you can get through it. What was irritating to me was she miscounted so much. I am hooked on Cathe now so I am giving Slim in 6 to my cousin. I heard she was coming out with a new Slim in 6 ( I bought mine 5 years ago) so maybe that one will be better.

I didn't have Slim in 6 but I did have the Slim Series and did it once. It was so boring and it developed such a dread factor that I traded it away. I don't doubt that it is effective but I just never wanted to do it again. Ever!

I have Slim Series and took a freestyle training approach(working my legs 5 -6 days a week). It was effective for lower body, but I lost a lot of upper body strength doing the rotation.
I love Debbie Siebers and the lower body work. If I ever decide to do it again, I would add in hardcore upper body work.

Hi Ivy!
I just completed the Slim in 6 program last week and I have to say, I got GREAT results!! Overall I lost 5 lbs which isn't huge, but I didn't have tons to lose to begin with. But the best part is all the inches I lost!! I didn't measure myself but there is no doubt that my abs/hips/thighs are MUCH slimmer, and my arms are super toned. I went from wearing a size 6 to a size 3, so that tells you something! :) Okay, there are pros and cons:

PROS
*It really works!!! :D :)
*I like Debbie Siebers, she is very "girl next door", very likeable (in my opinion) and friendly, and gives good form pointers

CONS
*It does get boring after a while doing the same workout 6x per week. There are only 3 DVD's. I did the beginner (Start it Up -30 minutes) for one week, then the intermediate workout (Ramp it Up -45 minutes) for two weeks, and the advanced workout (Burn it Up -60 minutes) for the last three weeks. Honestly, by week 5 I wanted to cry I was so bored, but the results kept me going!
*The music isn't great, but you can turn it off and play your own. This also helped A LOT with the boredom!
*Debbie isn't that great at rep counting. For example, she will tell you that you only have 8 more to go, and it's really 12 :p. Also, she works body parts unevenly. You will find that she may do 12 lunges on one leg, but only 8 lunges on the other leg, etc. So you just have to be careful to count your own reps and work both sides the same.
* The repetitiveness of doing the same moves day after day can cause joint problems, especially if you're prone. I had some shoulder/knee pain but just backed off a day or two and then I was okay.

I actually only did this workout about 5x per week, not the recommend 6 days and I still got great results. I also walked about 3 miles 4-5x per week too though, so I'm sure that helped.

Okay, so I know the cons list is much longer, but it might not even be a "con" to someone else. Just wanted to share what I could with you! I just have to say that overall I was super happy with the program because I haven't been able to flatten my belly or slim my waist and hips to my liking, EVER, no matter what I've tried!! And that was worth all the repetitiveness to me! I plan on following up my results with the "Slim Series".

Good luck! Feel free to PM me if you have any other Q's! :)

The updated Slim in 6 set will include a new workout that will be alternated w/ the revised Burn it Up in the rotation The new workout in the set is called 'Slim it Down' and will be 45 min. I think that will help somewhat w/ the repetition factor. There will also be new music for all the workouts. Supposedly, it will be released in August, but that's tentative.
