Slim in 6

Hi there -

thanks for your wonderful responses regarding Turbo Jam. It really helped and I caved and purchased a set. BUT - has anyone had any experience with any of the Slim in 6 or Slim Series programs? If so, which ones? Thanks so much in advance. I've got great fitness advisors right here! edie

Hi Donna -

It is a Beach Body product, just like Turbo Jam and P90X. I have most of Cathe's dvds, but I am looking for some less intense stuff to work with when I don't have the time or energy to work out with Cathe. Thanks for responding. - edie

I purchased Slim in Six and did it for about 3 weeks. I had already been doing the FIRM and Tae-bo on a regular basis and, due to this I think, thought the 1st week's suggested routine (can't remember the name of the workout) was too easy. I got bored after a few weeks and stopped. It was okay I suppose but a little basic I think if you're a more advanced exerciser or like workouts that are more fast paced. I sold it at a yard sale but kept the ab workout.

Sorry - I'm editing to add that I didn't read your post correctly. If you're looking for something a little slower to mix things up or have a lighter day, it would probably work well for you.

Hey Edie-

I have Slim Series & I really like it, it is high rep/low weight and some cardio but not near as intense as a Cathe cardio but it works your body different b/c it uses the weights while doing cardio. I never did buy Slim in 6 b/c it is a lot easier than Slim Series from what I heard. When I first starting working out Slim Series is what got me in shape. There is 6 to the set, they are all pretty similar and some don't like it b/c it is too boring but I turn on my own music and it isn't too bad and it works so I deal with it. I still use these now, typically one or two a week depending. If you have questions about a specific one I'd be happy to help, just PM me or e-mail. :)

I did the slim series. It's not too bad. Actually, if you get the more advance program, which is what I got, it's fairly tough. Not much of a cardio, so you'll want to subsitute some Cathe Cardio. But I got good results from it. It leaned me out, which was what I needed at the time. I still do it from time to time, and still get sore from it from time to time, because it's high rep low weight.
It's a good addition to the workout library as far as I'm concerned. But don't but the Slim in 6, get the Slim Series.

Hi there -

Just wanted to again thank everyone for your input on the Slim in 6 series. I caved and purchased the Slim series. But I was wondering about the Slim in 6 "Burn it up" dvd - wondered if anyone has tried that particular dvd and if anyone thought it was worth getting or is it similar to any of the Slim Series dvds - in which case I would pass? thanks again. edie

"Burn it Up" is similar to SS, but shorter. It may have a bit more çardio' moves, and some people like it a lot.

If you are interested in getting a pre-Slim Series workout, another choice is "Keep it Up," which is a workout designed as a follow-up to Sin6, preceding SS. It's the same format as Sin6 and about the same length. The DVD also has "Slim and 6 pack" (an ab workout) and "Slim and Limber" (a nice, 15-minute stretch workout).

The main difference between all the Sin6 workouts and SS is length.
