sleepbarking dogs...

Does anyone know why dogs bark in their sleep? I say my dog chases rabbits in his dreams! His legs are going and he rufffs, rruuuufffss. It seems like he does it more as he's gotten older. When he sleeps with me (when hubby is out of town!) sometimes I have to wake him up to shut him up...he wakes me up he is so loud!! Anyway I always forget to ask the vet and he was just doing it so thought I'd pose the question!

I have seen that...that is sort of what my dog does...minus the unfortunate run in with the wall! Bless his heart! that you tube carcks me up :p

My two beagles do it and my Labs did it! Mine woof and whine and cry and run and sniff, yes, even eat in their sleep! It's so cute! Except when they do it in bed and claw me up! I just roll over. My male beagle even gets my attention when he will suddenly start wagging his tail in his sleep! I think it is just dreams! We move around in our sleep as well.

My dogs wag their tails and bark in their sleep. One of them actually sits up and howls in his sleep occasionally. It's really creepy when he does it in the middle of the night!

Jimmy does it, too, and I'm sure he wags his itty bitty tail, but I would never know if I weren't looking directly at him. :p It's funny. Fortunately, he doesn't seem to do it at night - he sleeps on the floor in our room or on the bed when DH is out.
