silly question

Okay this is a studpid question. i have been on these forums for a few months now and all of you talk about DOMs after workouts. I cannot for the life of me figure out what this acronym means and it is driving me nuts Can someone please tell me? I am just very curious :)
 
Not a silly question at all! DOMS stand for Delayed Onset Muscle Soreness :) I had to ask the same question... I had them, just never knew that they were called something other than OUCH! :)

Ohhhhh, now I get it. thanks so much for the reply :). I know just what those are, trust me, lol.
 
FYI: it's the soreness that sets in about 24-48 hours after an intense workout (or a workout you are unfamiliar with), and may last 2-3 days.

It's NOT AT ALL necessary as a sign of having worked out well enough, but having it in a muscle group that usually doesn't get sore can be a sign that the workout is hitting the muscles harder than you usually do.
