.....strength train my legs again? I did MIS yesterday, and Cathe's rotation has GS Legs for tomorrow. Should I switch the rotation around to give legs/butt more time to heal? I'm feeling better than when I posted this on the rotation thread.

I know I have to wait to see how I feel in the am. But, I wanted others suggestions also.

Hi Shereta! If it was me I'd go ahead with GS Legs, but if your DOMS is real bad than I'd push back starting the rotation one day and take a day of rest rather than swapping around the rotation. I've found that if I'm just a little sore I can work through it without any problems. But if it's really bad you're not going to have as effective of a workout and possibly end up shortchanging your workout or quiting early or injuring yourself. In that case it's better to take that extra day of rest and then you'll have a great workout!

If the DOMS aren't crazy, I recommend going ahead with another legs workout, just because I tend to find that doing strength training in areas where I have DOMS actually helps ease them and I feel better after.

Start off really easy (maybe no weights at all for 3-5 sets) - You want to warm up the muscles a little extra...You may even want to pause DVD and do an additioal stretch AFTER the few sets without weights.

By then you should be actually feling better. If not- you could risk injury if you cant get the muscle to loosen up.

If you arent loosenin up you could insert a cardio day & resume w/ GS the next day....

You could go thru the DVD but use lite to no weights at all (I've done this before & still felt GS Legs!)

I've done rotations where we do a hard legs day followed by Imax or something similar...It actually helped to release the DOMS after the first several combos.

The hardest thing for us on the forums is that we are never sure what "really painful" "really tight" "really sore" means to you. Its all very subjective.

Ease into the workout- go with your gut. Only you know whats going on inside your body.

Let us know what you decided

Hey, Ladies

Thanks for your thoughts and suggestions. I did go ahead with GSLegs. I used my usual weights which are 5-10 poinds less than Cathe. I was still a little sore, but it did not hinder my workout at all. I limped away with my mind only on making it up the stairs, not thinking about DOMS at all.

I just read an online interview with 90's bodybuilding phenom Mike Francois and he said you should never work body parts that are sore because they haven't healed and the risk for injury is huge. Remember, your body recovers and builds muscle at rest and you don't want to do anything to hamper that.

I did STS mesocycle 1 as full body workouts and got the shock of my life when I switched to doing mesocycle 2 as is. The first leg workout had the same impact on me as AOS Providence. I was somewhat sore the next day but in excruciating pain for four days after. Talk about sore. Fortunately, I do STS every other day with cardio in-between so I was able to completely rest up by just dropping the cardio. When I did the second leg workout I was sore but nothing like on the first one. I noticed the same thing with AOS Providence the second time I did it. Your body adapts and the pain lessens. But as long as you're really sore, take it easy. If you get hurt you may be too wary to try again and I know you don't want that to happen.
