Should I get the CTX series?

Cathlete
I have a credit on my credit card and was thinking about getting the CTX series but didn't know if this workout series would be effective for fatloss since it is not as intense (from what i hear).. THank you :)

I absolutely LOVE CTX!!!! It IS intense...just not as LONG as other workouts. They are "express" workouts...averaging approx 45-50 mins or so with cardio, weights and abs in most of the routines. I love using them as add ons to my other workouts. They may be shorter...but they certainly DO pack a healthy punch. The music is wonderful in this series in my opinion...and Cathe has such an entertaining personality in this series.

ON a down note...I think that CTX is on backorder. But, it IS worth the wait!!!!!

Tanya

Tanya are there premixes so you can do a couple of the workouts together to make it longer? Rumor has it that it will be off back order very soon so I am curious.

Thanks

Terri

No, unfortunately there are no premixes. However, it is chaptered for example. If you choose 10-10-10 of the series... it is broken down into chapters of "warm up", kickbox, hi/low, and step, and so on. But, the 10-10-10 is 10 mins of kickbox, 10 mins of hi/low and 10 mins of step. The cardio in these workouts do pack a punch. They are not easy to me. I am an advanced exerciser and I am a kickbox instructor myself. So...I don't consider these easy. But, back to premixes...due to the convience of chaptering...it does make the mixing and matching much easier. I jump from one workout to another often. I do not have a programmable dvd player...so I have to leave a workout and then find what part of another I wanna get to. But, it's not hard to do...because there are several workouts on the same dvd.

Hope that helped a bit...and didn't leave you a tad bit more confused.

The CTX DVD is on backorder along with the Rhythmic Step DVD.....I've been waiting since the early to middle part of June for both. Personally, if I was only buying one DVD, I would buy the DVD I knew was available because there is no way to tell when the other will be in stock. (For example: Some people have been waiting 4 months or longer for Rhythmic Step...Heck, in 4 months you could have enough extra money to buy the other DVD.) They do not give estimated times of arrival even if you decide to e-mail them. Just a thought.....

Wish I had my DVDs,
Robin

Great point! And I had NO idea that some have waited for almost 4 months! Holy Cow! That's a long time!!!!

There is a post by SNM on "Ask Cathe" that the Rhythmic Step DVD will be back in stock this week. I'm hoping CTX will be also -- I just ordered it this week and CANNOT wait to get it!

Everyone I spoke with on the Road Trip love CTX. I'm very excited about getting it. :)

Carole,
I'm doing the happy dance with you!! I just checked my UPS tracking number....it should be here on August 5th (I hope with my Rhythmic Step DVD).

Robin

I have been considering this dvd as well. I just paid for my upcoming vacation though. I hate being in the should I or should I not mode! I am leaning toward should:)

Terri

But I also want the RS,MIC,Imax if it comes of back order!

CTX can be mixed and matched nicely. I love it. I have it on VHS, but would love to have the DVD version (someday soon, I hope). I have found it effective when losing weight.

Ditto to others' opinions....and let's not forget Leaner Legs and CTX Upper body....and isn't there an All Abs section as well? :)

Julie

CTX is fabulous, intense, features 5 different cardio sections that you can do as is, or stick 2 back to back for extra sweat factor. It also features a tough leg workout (quick, mean and dirty!) and a very thorough upper body workout, and yes, an "all abs" choice. just because they are shorter, don't think they are not intense. Cathe gets the heart rate where she wants it very quickly and then keeps it there, there's no gradual build up to it as you have on, say, Powermax. It's "bang!" right in there.

What's not to love?

I never tire of it, it always seems fresh, the music is good, and I never regretted the cash I spent on it, ever.
