Should I buy the slanted risers?

I am getting ready to place an order for the cardio club step and am wondering if I should take the plunge and add the slanted risers to my order. Are they worth the price? I do not have an incline bench so I would mainly be using them for incline work with the Gym Style DVDs. Thanks!!

I say go for it! The risers are wonderful for incline/decline weight work or for making the step as a "ramp" for lunges, etc.

I use mine for any incline bench work in "regular" DVDs and for STS. They're not critical to have, but they're more stable than the regular risers in the incline position. And the more risers you use (I use quite a few when I'm using my step as a weight bench) the more that stability becomes an issue.

ETA: I meant add that the two incline risers stacked equal three standard risers, so if you get them you may want to order an extra regular riser so that you have an even number for each side of the step if you want to stack them that high. I do, and it makes the step a much more comfortable weight bench.

I just ordered the slanted risers :)

I ordered the slanted risers from Spri's listing on amazon.com. The shipping was free and they included a wonderful workout DVD to go with the slanted risers. I'm very happy with my purchase.

slanted risers, if Cathe uses them, I would buy them which I did. It's safer and better than moving the Club Step to be slanted.

They are definitely non-essential but nice to have if you have the money for them. You also need the room for them. I keep mine in the basement because I have a little house so I don't get the use out of them that I would if I had a workout room where they would be easily available.

You might find them useful.
Here are what I see as some reasons to get them, and reasons not to (though some of my reasons to get them might not be a good reason for you, and some of my reasons to not get them might not matter to you):

They're great if...
you want a stable 45-degree-angle surface on which to do incline work

you have the Firm Transfirmer workouts (or want to do incline step cardio): the risers make it possible to make a version of the Transfirmer (the other day, I used my slanted risers, my two step platforms---yes, I have two!--my High Step topper and an assortment of risers to make all the configurations necessary to do the "jiggle-free buns' workout).

you have the High Step topper and want more risers for it (the slanted risers stack together to make the height of 3 regular risers, and they are more stable than stacking 3 risers).

They're not really necessary if...
having only a 45 degree option as well as flat bench isn't that worth it to you

you don't intend to use them for anything but making an incline bench

you don't have the High Step topper, and don't intend to get it

Thanks everyone! I went ahead and ordered the cardio step and one set of slanted risers. The risers may have been an impulse purchase but hopefully I'll get enough use out of them to make it worthwhile.

I store my slanted risers on the bottom of my cardio step risers with the topper of the high step on that with my medicine ball in the middle. Saves space and looks good.
