Short on time....

The way my daily schedule is, I only seem to have time to squeeze in 45 minutes of exercise maybe 4 days a week. I want to build lean muscle and shed some post-op fat. Can I use Timesaver from Body Blast on a weekly basis and see results? Or does anyone out there have any good rotation ideas?

Thanks in advance!;)

I don't have the Timesaver (I think it's the only Cathe workout since "Step in Motion III" that I never owned), but if it combines weights and cardio, then it would be a good choice.

If I only had 45-minutes, 4 days a week to workout, I would choose a combo of weight work and cardio.

The 4 workout series that Cathe planned for the winter (which looks like it will be pushed back at least until spring, if not summer, filming) sounds like a good choice, if the workouts are short enough (I don't remember the exact descriiptions, but they are posted in the "Ask Cathe' forum).

The CTX Series is specifically designed for your situation. 5 workouts - include 30 minutes of cardio, a weight workout targeting a specific body part, and some have abs as well. The 6th is Leaner Legs which is a tough lower body workout - and this includes abs as well.

It's a great rotation and a lot of people have had success. It's not cheap, but it's worth every penny, in my opinion.

Some other ideas:
Day 1: KM WU & Blasts only/KPC abs & stretch(under 45 min. I think)
Day 2: SS Lower Body blast(33 min. including WU & Stretch - skip stretch) and go right into SJP step only then pick a short stretch
Day 3: BC Cardio only premix/BC Upper body premix/BC Core only premix(probably comes close to 50 min.)
Day 4: Imax 2 Blast only or a premix 1-5 or 6-10

or
Day 1: L&G WU & standing leg work(33 min.)/BC Cardio only(skipping WU) then do L&G or BC stretch
Day 2: KPC WU through high intensity drills(32 min.)/C&W Abs only then C&W stretch
Day 3: Any Imax blast only or premix
Day 4: MIC WU & Hi/Lo only(33 min.)/C&W Heavy upper body premix

or have you thought about alternating strength training one week with cardio the next? For example:
PS BBA (42 min.)
PS Legs WU & Standing only (37 min.) skip to stretch (3 min.)
PS CT (37 min.)
WU of choice then PS Legs floor & abs only (25 min.)

Then the next week focus on 4 days of cardio for the total 45 min. You could come up with a lot of cardio options using SB premixes or mix and match features.
Just some thoughts...good luck!

You could do 2 days of cardio and 2 days of total body weights. Timesaver cardios would be useful. Once you are conditioned, I'm not sure if the weights sections on the Timesavers are heavy enough to build muscle. Instead, short total body weight workouts include Push Pull and Total Body Scuplt.

Alternatively, on your weight lifting, days you could do upper body one day and lower body the other, eg pyramid upper and lower (there are premixes that should be short enough for you).

Sometimes you could do 2 days of cardio and 2 days of circuits (eg Bootcamp, Cardio & Weights, or one of the highstep workouts). This would be good for shedding fat, but would have less emphasis on muscle building.

I think Supersets and Pushpull are total body workouts under 60 min.

Also, You probably could use the timesave by one day combining all the upper body weight segments and the next day doing the leg workout - #5. You could mix and match cardio segments to make an aerobic workout the length you want.

You could buy Step/jump/pump and one day do just the aerobic step and the next day just the hi/lo circuit combo.

Also, on the DVD is Step/blast and there are all kinds of combos so you definately find a shorter one that fits into your time.

I do this all the time. I have to start writing them down.

You don't have much time to workout, so I think trying to both build muscle and shed fat is a little unrealistic. I'd focus primarily on either weights or cardio. If fat loss is your first goal, do 3 days hard cardio and one day of total body weights. If you'd like to build muscle first I'd do split routines (like gymstyle timesavers, PS ) for three days and one day of hard cardio. You could perhaps alternate a primarily weights week with a primarily cardio week. The Body Blast Timesaver is good for short term use in a pinch (i just did it this week) but I wouldn't recommend it as a long term solution for you.
