Shopping remorse

Here I am, trying to SAVE money, and somehow I wind up with 4 swimsuits. First, I have one from last year when we were supposed to go on a trip that got canceled. It's still got the tags on, but Cyberswim doesn't take them back after 10 days, and it's too big this year. So I ran around like a maniac trying to find something before we leave for Florida (end of July). Lord & Taylor was having a sale. NOTHING fit, so I finally just bought the one that was the lesser of the evils. For some reason I cannot explain, I cut off the damn tags. I guess I figured at 40% off, I was keeping it. The bust is too small, and it hurts, but I figure, whatever.

Then I go to a bra store to buy some new bras, and what do they have but rows and rows of swimsuits for top heavy types! The saleswoman was amazing, and she knew exactly what would look right on me. I called my DH to come over and see me in the first swimsuit I tried on, and his jaw dropped. Then I tried on another one, and my DH, who is an absolute skinflint said "I can't decide. You must buy both". So, of course, I did.

One week in Florida and I now have a swimsuit for every day of the week. Is there any way L&T will take back a swimsuit with no tags? I didn't remove the hygenic liner, and I have the receipt.

I feel so guilty. :(

They might let you return it with your receipt. It's worth a try. And I totally understand your guilt, but don't you also feel awesome for finding TWO perfect swimsuits? I think that's way cool!!! :)

Nancy, don't feel bad! If you find a swimsuit that looks good on you, you must buy it! I would call L&T and explain it to them and ask them if they'll take it back. If not, try selling it on eBay. I would try selling the CyberSwim one on eBay, too. You won't regret having two suits in Florida--trust me. They don't always completely dry overnight.

I went on a SCUBA vacation with a big group once and a bunch of the women seriously did have a different bathing suit every single day. I didn't get it, but that's just me!

Anyway, enjoy your trip and have fun!

That sounds like the story of my shopping life! Just about anytime I remove tags or throw away a receipt that's the time I want to return something, that or I put it off until it's too late. I honestly think I was born with a female shopping gene and a male asking for direction gene. I hate to shop and never ask for directions.

Anyway, a good swimsuit is so hard to find and should last a while. Enjoy yours and enjoy your vacation.

Anne, thanks for confirming that two suits is the way to go. I was thinking the same thing. Now I only feel bad about the other two. Thanks so much for your post!

Amy, you're absolutely right. For the first time in my life, I have TWO perfect swimsuits. I've never even had ONE before. I should be enjoying this. Thanks for putting things into perspective! :D

I know. I almost never remove a tag before I'm ready to wear something. And the one time I do....
I do plan to enjoy the vacation. Thanks for your post!
