Shopping = Exhaustion!

Well, I never knew switching to clean eating could be so exasperating! Or maybe it's exhausting? I went grocery shopping today. I needed food, but also wanted to begin a transition to clean foods.

I started out at Whole Foods for those strange things I knew I wouldn't find in the grocery store. I had to ask where everything was!:eek:

Then, it was off to the regular grocery store. I'm so used to doing my shopping online, I had forgotten how long it can take! I was looking in the organic section for tofu or TSP/TVP and found out that was all the way back on the other side in produce! Looked for edamame in the frozen veggies only to find it in the organic section!:confused:

Whew! By the time I was done, I was exhausted! I get home to put everything away and feel like I didn't get enough fresh vegetables!:(

I can see this is going to take some adjustment! Once I get used to what I need regularly, I can go back to doing it via Peapod, so they can come to me!:D

It does become easier. Once you shop somewhere a few times, you'll become familiar with where things are located and it will go smoother. I've often thought I should set up a business helping people who want to clean up their diets figure out how to shop. I seem to have a sign on my back that says let me help you anyway, as I get a lot of people asking me where things are and what they are. :)

I'm starting my 4th week of eating clean - and though I have to go to three different stores to get everything I need/want - it is getting easier, because I am starting to know where everything is :) The first week, OMG, i had to take a nap when I got home :p

LOL! You are speaking my language! If I had to go to one more place, I would have been completely spent!

Thanks for the encouragement! I'm actually excited about eating clean! For me, it's almost like Christmas or getting that new outfit or a new Cathe dvd! :D

I just started splitting up my shopping between two stores, which is a huge pain in the butt. I think it'll end up being worth the trouble though. In the long run. :)

I find all shopping to be exhausting! I'll find myself out in a store and just hit the "mall wall," when I can't go on.

But grocery shopping is much easier because I do it every week and I know where pretty much everything is.

Hang in there -- it really will get easier to shop, chop, and prepare!
