I thought it might be fun and helpful to exchange "consumer reports". What is the best product, large or small, you have purchased in the last year that exceeded your expectations for quality, performance, or whatever you purchased it for, that you would highly recommend?

I'll offer mine:

I bought a "Petal-Soft Fleece" bathrobe from LLBean that is unbelievably light, unbulky, super-soft and yet very warm. Given all of that, I didn't care what color it was, but the "soft blue" turned out to be beautiful. And when it came out of the wash, it got even softer.

Anyone else want to play?

My husband gave me a full length coat from Talbots three years ago. It looks like suede with a fake fur-looking inside and on the cuffs and collar. I LOVE that coat!! It still looks brand new!!! The best part is that it is machine washable!!! Warm, good looking and machine washable...it doesn't get much better than that!!!

Sounds like a fake shearling? They make some beautiful ones these days. That's awesome that it's machine washable and looks like new! Great buy.

I bought the animal dyson and love it! I love it mostly for it's attachments for furniture, walls, fans etc.

I also started buying the simple pleasures detergent and softener and love it so much more than the regular Tide I was buying. I get the water lily and jasmin and it smells so good wihtout being overpowering.

One more thing - A nearby drugstore had the Charles Worthington Dream Hair shampoo/conditioner on sale so decided to buy it. Can tell a big difference as for frizziness within a weeks use. It smells very different in that it's not very sweet and fruity smelling, but I love it!

Nancy~ I think the Dyson is a vacuum.

My list includes any of my new Cathe DVDs, of course :) :)

I would also include my kitchen appliances: Jenn-air double oven and cooktop and dishwasher. I love them all and use them daily with a smile:D

Add my Dooney and Burke purse (gift from sister). It is the perfect size and shape for my daily routines.

Sorry about that. Yes, it is the Dyson vacuum cleaner i'm talking about. I said the animal Dyson because it's made for houses with pets.

It's a powerful hand held blender. They are great for smoothies and many other uses. There is an infomercial out on this one, I think, but it is not a TV only product. I don't have one, but I have heard people rave about them!

I purchased a 100% lamb leather jacket in a gorgeous navy blue for about $100 last year! I love it because it's so soft and comfortable.

I also love my Convection microwave oven that we got several years ago to replace the microwave that got zapped when lightning hit our neighbor's yard.

The Magic Bullet actually does more than blend: you can also use it to chop, grind, whip, etc. I just love it! They are $60 ~ I found mine at Target.

I bought myself a long ugg down coat with attached down hood in the Fall to wear for long dog walks this winter. It is truly the warmest coat I've ever owned! My body and head stay nice and toasty... my hands still get cold though. Wonder if they make down mittens?
 
Last year I waited too long to get our tax papers to our accountant, so I had to do our taxes myself. I bought H&R Block Tax cut software for about $30. It was so easy! When I compared the return completed by our accountant the previous year to what the software did it was almost identical. That saved us $200. With the e-filing feature I got my state refund back 3 days after I filed and federal not long after.

If we have a complicated tax event in the future, we'll use the accountant again. For the short term I'm sticking with the software.
 
The only nice thing that DH and I have is a great memory foam mattress. It was really expensive, but two years later we both still love it and love sleeping in it every night. I would love to go climb into bed after working out every night if it didn't seem so pathetic :) .

Karin, good shopping! I say if you're going to spend money on one thing, spend it on great food and a great bed. Okay, that's two things. :p :p

Hands down, my best purchase of the year was my Precor Elliptical and the entire Cardio Coach collection. It was a true investment in my health and something I really use.

The best small product I bought was a set of Lock & Lock airtight food storage containers. Those things are great!
