Shoes

When I was in N.H., in a Lady Footlocker I and discovered they had some Rykas!

I was so disappointed that they didn't have the Cirrus or Styllus to fit me that when they had another 'Ryka' in my size I just bought it....not knowing if it was an aerobic shoe or what....I just bought them because they were Rykas!

They have XT-E.T.S. printed on them. My toes go numb when I wear them....I have tried looser laces too (they felt fine in the store). I just wondered if anyone knows of this style and what they are for.....are Rykas all aerobic shoes? I will just wear them 'around'.....so they aren't a total loss....but they did cost me $79 US (translated into Canadian that is big bucks too :-()

I may keep trying them out from time to time. I just want to know out of curiosity....Thanks. :)

Hi Susan:

Funny, I just now sent a post out "To Canucks re Rykas"!

No, Rykas don't just make aerobic shoes. I know because my aerobics instructor told me she accidentally bought Ryka walking shoes and they killed her during her hi-lo class.

XT-E.T.S. I believe (somebody correct me if I'm wrong) are cross-trainers and I personally find them unsatisfactory for cardio. For one thing, I don't think they're high-tops and I need that to keep my heels and ankles kept firmly in my shoes. Cross-trainers are pretty good though for walking and weight-training.

Try Ryka's Cirrus, Re-Evolution or Stylus, which are hi-tops. You can get them at SportChek for approximately $109-119. I've heard Cirrus is being discontinued and Ryka is only making Stylus now -- so maybe SportChek is selling off their remnants.

Hope I've been of some help.

Patricia, Toronto

P.S. If you live in Toronto and you're near The First Canadian Place mall, you can also get Rykas at the Adelaide Club on the bottom level of the mall.

Thanks for your reply Patricia. :)

There is a SportChek near me (Burlington).....I never thought to try there. I always think of it as a 'guy' store, even though I go in Play it Again Sports often enough.

I have heard good things about Stylus and Re-Evolution so I will definately look for them. It has been to long since I've changed shoes.

Thanks again, your were helpful.:)

Oh, Susan, sometimes I'm such a ditz!!!! It might have been at Athlete's World. Whenever I go to Scarborough Centre I get all turned around and disoriented (hate crowds on a Saturday!). I believe SportChek and Athlete's World are both there. Anyways, I know it's a major sports chain.

Sorry, the only muscle not exercised in my body is my brain!

Forever lost,
Patricia
