Shoe Recommendations

I have not bought new workout shoes (does anyone else still call them sneakers? :) ) in a very long time so I am long overdue for a new pair. I would use the shoes just for my DVD workouts...weight lifting, HiiT, kickboxing, cardio, etc. I guess they would be cross training shoes? I've already got a separate pair for treadmill work. Does anyone have any suggestions or recommendations? Thank you!

The Asics gel Craze. Got this shoe myself a month ago and it is perfect. Slimline in appearance, not hulky and bulky, excellent support, wider section across forefoot for lateral stability, fab colours, and I do all my cardio and weight training in them (plyo, step, compound weight workouts, metabolic workouts, circuits) and it's all wonderful.

Originally, I got these shoes to "share" with my 20 year old daughter who lives at home while attending college and who adores cool sneakers, but after one workout I told her she had to get her own pair: I'm not sharing. They are that good!

I bought the Asics on Clare's recommendation and they're the best cross trainers I've tried so far. Thanks Clare!!!

From looking at a picture of the Asics Gel harmony, one difference I can easily see is that this one lacks the wider area that spans from the little toe to the joint of the big toe, which the Craze has and which provides extra lateral stability, just what you want on Cathe plyo, HiiT and blast moves.

Also, the description on Amazon has this down as a running shoe, as it talks about support through "the gait cycle."

I've had the best luck ordering shoes from zappos.com. The last 2 or 3 pairs I have bought have been of the "Asics" brand and I have been unbelievably satisfied. I search for a "cross training" shoe and plug-in my desired brand. I don't base my entire decision off of a lot of favorable reviews, but it definitely helps to see other people are satisifed with a particular shoe. I always make sure to look for an Asics cross training shoe that works well for lateral movements.

Just my .02! :p Good luck!
