Shoe Recommendations please??!!

As most of you know I have PF and now have my orthotics. I have been wearing Ryka Iseums with them, and I need a new pair. Does anybody have a particular shoe that works well with orthotics and having PF that they would like to recommend? Someone I know recommended going with an aeorbic shoe over a cross trainer is that a wiser way to go?? :) I do strictly Cathe for cardio and weights with occasional other instructors or a bike on the trainer workout thrown in for variety.:7

Thanks

I think all the Rykas work well with orthotics. I have had 2 pairs of Ryka Cirrus and have just bought the Ryka Rhythm and I just take out their footbed and insert my own every time.

What's wrong with getting another pair of Iseums? Did you not like it? Personally I prefer an aerobic shoe, high performance studio shoe, because I want premium conditioning. I am not going to damage my joints thank you and will not buy a cheap pair of shoes and compromise my knees and feet and achilles. Since I don't do tennis or basketball, I don't need a cross trainer and all my Ryka aerobic shoes have been great for weight training so....I see no reason to change now.

I also suffered from some achilles and PF trouble, and the Rykas plus special liners worked well for me. The only time I have trouble with flare ups is once a year, and I take that as my cue to get a new pair of shoes and it does the trick, every time. The body is very intelligent really.

Hi Clare and thanks for the response. There is nothing wrong with Ryka's I was just curious if anybody else had something else that they found worked just as well. A friend uses New Balance 662 Cross trainers with her orthotics and likes those but was thinking about trying Rykas. I haven't tried the other styles of Rykas so maybe I would like another style better, also since Rykas run small I have to get a 10 so my orthotics won't fit into any other shoes that I have because they are all 9's. Do all Rykas styles run small?

Thanks again for the response.:7

I've used Reeboks, Rykas and New Balance with my orthotics. All worked well once I took out the removeable inserts they had. I'm just about to start my own search for new shoes! :)

I'm in the market for new shoes too. I'm currently wearing Iseums and have noticed that my calves and outsides of my knees are sore a lot but I've had them for a year so I guess it's just a sign that I need new shoes.

What's the difference between aerobic shoes and cross trainers? Do they look different?

Hi,
I did a lot of research on this forum and bought Ryka (Enlight) shoes
last November. I've read a lot of positive comments about them. However, I have had nothing but foot trouble since I've been wearing them; especially my 2 smallest toes on my right foot. Is this common with this shoe? They just are not comfortable. It's very fustrating after I spent quite a bit on these shoes.

I am unable to return them because I "misplaced" my receipt from Gaylan's.

I have had Reebok shoes previously and actually wore them for a longer time than I should have but thought I would try a different kind.

Yes, all Rykas run a little small. I am always a size 9 even though I am a size 8 and half in street shoe.

I'd also make sure you take your orthotics and actually try them in the shoe you are thinking of buying.
