Shelley (allwildgirl)! I found it!

Sorry Nancy, not Shelley obviously, but *gasps* that is a beautiful room! Oh, and your new picture is beautiful too, love it!:)

tneah, I've been pining for a clean, uncluttered space where I can have peace and clarity of mind. (Of course, divorce may be involved. ;) )

I felt the urge to peek too !:p

What a gorgeous room with an absolutely divine view !

Is it even possible for you to get that close Nancy? Or is it all just a dream . . .x(

Well, Jacque, my apartment is described as "loftlike". One of the owners put up a few walls to divide up the space, but the apartment can be reconfigured without the walls. And we do have a lot of windows. But, sheeeeesh, not like THOSE windows!! And the view is utterly out of the question. :-(

What do you guys think of the furniture? Do you like the muted, understated colors?

Oh, that is such a gorgeous space, and the furniture and colors are so relaxing! It's very zen-like!

And, Nancy, you look absolutely gorgeous in your new avatar!:)

NANCE!! OMG if I had no children and no dogs (and probably no SO) I would SO HAVE THAT ROOM! How gorgeous! And it's totally and easily do-able.

And I agree that the gorgeousness of the room pales in comparison to your new avatar pic:)

I agree with Shelley. I'd love it, but I would have to get rid of the kids, the cats, the DH. Maybe even get rid of myself. It is a lovely room. But is it livable?

I also like your new avatar. Very smart, chic!

Nancy,

I also wanted to pop in and say your new avatar is lovely!

I hate to be a party pooper, but although the room picture is gorgeous, white furniture is extremely impractical. I speak from personal experience! I had a white sofa and loveseat for 8 years and it drove me nuts after 6 months. And after a while, it can take on a yellowish cast.

I just redecorated last year and punched things up with more color and I love it!

I'm sure whatever you do will be beautiful.

Laura

My goodness! Thank you all so much for the compliments on my avatar! I'm really surprised by your kind words. That was last week and it was the first time I've worn my hair "up" since I was about 11 years old.

I'm thrilled that you all like the room. I'm still trying to learn what my taste is. I know the room is a bit plain, but I think that's my taste. I love those creamy, light, subdued colors. No doubt, though: my DH would DEFINITELY have to go!! ;) :p And I think I agree with the Birthday Girl: I would probably have to go too!

>I adore that apt!!! How spectacular! The colors are exactly
>what I would do. It's so bright, airy, cheery and peaceful.
>Great find, Nance!

Allison,
Of course you, as my identical twin, love the room. That's a no-brainer. ;)

I agree, Laura. I'd probably go a tad more beige than bone with the furniture. Can we see a pic of your redecorated space??

Nance (aka my twin)--you are stunningly beautiful, my friend. I LOVE your hair up! I say it so much on this forum but I wish you were closer to me--I would give you the biggest, squeeziest hug ever! I love your taste. That room is gorgeous. Tweak it to make it "your own" and live-able. You'll have it in no time. Once you find what you want, you've got to go for it, darlin'. :) :)

Awwwww. Right back atcha Allison. :* :*

Let's see. Shelley likes the room, so now I know I have good taste. Which means you have good taste, because you have the same taste as me. And you just called me "stunningly beautiful". Hmmmmmm. This is a very good thing. ;)

2009 is the year. I swear I'm going to decorate in 2009. I'd say "redecorate", but we never actually "decorated" to begin with. :+

Nancy, I love both the room and the avatar. My first thought was much like Shelley's--I'd love to have that room except for what my kids would do to it. I love those dark wood floors.

And your bone structure is gorgeous. I have such a fleshy face that I always admire good cheekbones.

We still haven't even hung pictures in our house, and we've been here over 18 months. We have changed the siding on the outside and we're getting a new patio, so at least we're doing something. We might move to either NJ or NYC next year, though, so it's hard to bother too much with stuff except what will help the house value.

Nance, I love the simple elegance of the room, but alas, as others have mentioned, I would not be allowed in such a room :p . I'd even worry about dye transfer from my blue jeans onto the couch fabric.

And your avatar is beautiful, too. You look elegant with your hair up like that. did you get that done at Arrojo?

You know who you remind me of? Jessica Lange--before she messed up her beautiful face with plastic surgery, your bone structure is very similar...is that who? Help me out someone, who does Nancy remind you of? Such a pretty lady.:)
