Shelley (allwildgirl)! I found it!

Love it, Nance! Very chic.

My aunt redecorated her living room in white, which surprised me because she's kind of a neat freak. But maybe that's why it works for her. She is in her early 60s and lives alone, no pets. But I have to say, she does entertain fairly frequently and often watches her GD, who is now 5.

"Do you want to feel my spatula?" Run, Fat Boy, Run

Yes, Michele, the Arrojo hairdresser put my hair in an "updoo", complete with tendrils hanging. My DH knew I could never do that hairstyle myself (don't try this at home, folks), so he took pics to remember it by. ;) The hairdresser made it look messy, but good. If I did it, it would just look messy. ;) :p

You guys are da bomb! :D

Lainie, I've got ya beat. We've lived here for 8 years and just put up pictures about 3 years ago. We've done almost nothing to the place, which is a shame, and the kitchen is literally falling apart. But I've got my priorities. I've probably spent enough on new clothes since we've lived here to renovate the kitchen and hire a decorator. First things first. ;)

Also, what in the world do you think is wrong with your cheekbones? You have great cheekbones!

Nance there was an article in I think Fitness or Health a couple months ago about how to make rooms of your house feel like you are as relaxed as you are in a spa. (It talked about how spas design their space and why.)

I think you found exactly the same things they were talking about in this gorgeous photo. I'll find the article and send it to you-- it changed how I think about my home!

Thank you, Ame! Can't wait to get the article!! (I'm sooo sick of this apartment, I commute into my office on weekends just to get work done, because I can't think straight in all this clutter).

This is exactly the kind of interior I love: Clean lines, calming tones, and space to put stuff under the coffee table keeps it the room from becoming sterile. The only thing I'd change is a very strong painting that takes up most of the wall where the mirror is. Lots of can lighting, photograph it at night and, yea.... I can get into that. I'm doing bright colors on downstairs walls and using lots of black-and-white art. Upstairs is the opposite: neutral walls and intense art. I'm an artist so art is always going to figure huge, for me. But the lighting in my house is criminal and art loses so much of its impact without great lighting.

Amy could you send me the article

Hi Amy,

I was wondering if you could send the article to me too. It sounds interesting.

Nancy,

Great room and nice picture of you too! I am also working on the clutter problem. I have been married almost 21 years and I have saved so much (including stuff before I was married) ugh!!
