Hi Girls,

I am back from vacation...boo and I have to go back to work tomorrow double boo :( but I had a great vacation. :D The weather was beautiful and it was relaxing. I did get lots of exercise - swimming, walking the beach, doing some kettlebell exercises on the beach and walking lots of stairs.

This morning I did this workout:
1/2 mile run
100 squats
1/2 mile run
100 med ball elephants
1/2 mile run
100 walking lunges
1/2 mile run
100 sit ups

I have to work off lots of calories but tomorrow it's back to normal.

I haven't had time to read your last posts of August but I will check them and post later. Hope you all had a good week and weekend.
 
Jane - Glad you had a great vacation! I don't feel like I had 3 days off. Blech! Not only do I have to go back to work tomorrow, but I have to get up early to go to PT. I"m so tired of getting up early!

Sounds like you did enough to mitigate much of the damage of your vacation dining with all that movement! Excellent!

What a day! I actually worked out tonight! Woo! Did Step Max. We shall see how it goes. As I do more and start lifting weights again, I will see what happens with my pain levels.

Hope you two have had a good day! How'd your first day back after vacation go, Jane?
 
I took yesterday as a rest day. Tonight will be a 3-4 mile run.

Tricia ~ I made it through yesterday. I had to hit the ground running as it was the beginning of the month and I had to get the billing in order. I'm still working through it this morning but it's getting better.

I am glad you were able to workout yesterday. How are you feeling today?

Glad your first day back wasn't too bad and you took a rest day! Hope your run tonight was a good one!

I felt pretty good today. Played golf tonight. I shot a 41. Still working on getting below 40 on the Par 3 course! I am playing more consistently though, which is a good thing!

Not much else going on. Still doing PT. I think it's time to schedule an appointment with an orthopedic specialist. See what else can be done.

Here was last night's workout. It was tough. I had more planned but was wasted after doing this. I am going to be hurting later today. I had to cut out the mountain climbers after 20 reps on the 3rd exercise because it was too hard. I was using my 53# bell for the deadlifts.

5 Rounds - 10 Reps
Double KB Rack Squat
Sandbag Rotation Slams
Kettlebell Mountain Climbers DL
Figured 8 hold to squat

Tonight will be a workout that will include running and abs. I haven't put it together yet tough.

Tricia ~ I'm glad you got some golf in. I think it helps when you play more consistently.

My post disappeared!

I have not been posting lately because I have not been exercising. We have been reorganizing my room and everything is in the middle. That's where I normally exercise.

I had to go to the doctor to get some prescription strength stuff for my rash. It's working.

Jane your workout looks really challenging :)

Trisha it's good that you can do some golf now:)

Alisha - Glad you got something that's working on your rash!

I've been playing golf all along. It's lifting weights that I haven't been doing. I'm trying to get started again! I worked out on Tuesday, golfed on Wednesday, went to help a co-worker set up an Excel spreadsheet for her husband's business last night and went to Whole Foods tonight. I have a golf clinic tomorrow morning and plan to work out again.

I ended up running 2 miles on Friday. I was too sore to add in any more exercises plus it was cloudy but brutally humid.

Sunday was a 9 mile run.

Tonight will be an upper body weight workout.

Alisha ~ I love reorganizing stuff. It's fun and then it feels like you have a new space. We were always rearranging our rooms while we were growing up. I hope you get a workout in soon though.

Tricia ~ I'm glad you are still getting some golf in. Hope you had a great weekend.
 
Evening ladies!

Jane - Believe it or not, we have had a lot of humidity this past week up here! We finally cooled off and the humidity came down. I'm glad about the reduced humidity, but I'm not happy about being chilly!

Was at golf clinic on Saturday and in less than 5 minutes was all sticky from the humidity! Of course, I was happy because it was nice and warm! I almost needed a sweater tonight to play golf! :(

I'm never happy about the weather! :rolleyes:

Other than golf, not much going on here. I'm feeling much better! Just some minor pain these days. Trying to get back into the workouts now I'm feeling better!

Tricia- Chilly? Lol:eek: it's going to be 96 degrees F tomorrow :cool:

I plan to do something exercise wise tomorrow. My room is finally squared away.

Jane - I wouldn't run in humidity
 
Yesterday was a rest day.

Tonight will be a 3-4 mile run. It is only suppose to be 89 today. :eek:

Tricia ~ I'm glad you are feeling better. :) That is wonderful!!!! I'm glad you got some golfing in. My running friend hates the humidity and heat. She complains about it all summer long and won't doing races until it's cooler because her times will be off. She is extremely hard on herself.

Alisha ~ I'm glad your room is back in order. Enjoy your workout! I have no choice but to run in humidity because it's humid ALL the time. This morning it was 72 degrees with 100% humidity. Even when it's cooler, you can still feel the humidity in the air.
 
I did 30 minutes of step aerobics this morning. My right knee was bothering me. So I took off my shoes. Apparently I could do step without shoes! Who knew?

Happy Monday!

On Thursday I did a kettlebell workout. Friday was a rest day and Saturday a 5K race. I did my best time since the beginning of June. YIPPEE!! I managed to beat my sister and took 1st place in our age group. She took 2nd place. I got to see my racing friends that I haven't seen in a long while.

Sunday was a long run of 9 miles and tonight will be an upper body weight workout.

Tricia ~ I hope you are still feeling good!

Alisha ~ My sister used to do step and other workouts without shoes.

Hi girls!

Alisha - Glad your room is all straightened out! Yeah, we are definitely into fall weather! I had to golf in yoga pants, a long sleeved shirt and a pullover tech shirt this weekend! It's depressing me.

No, no workouts yet. I'm still trying to get going. I'm feeling spectacular! I still have occasional pain, but I'm so much better! My doc is glad and I'm down to PT every 2 weeks now. On the bright side, my weight is stable at 139.6. I'll take it! Now, I have to get focused and work on the next 10 pounds! lol

Jane - Congrats on your 5K time and first place! Woo!

It's nice to finally be able to play golf without pain! I'm having a blast! I'm taking an advanced short game clinic on Saturdays and am taking an advanced league round on Sundays. The pros go out with us and play a round of 9 holes with us. They watch and after play, give us critique and a plan for practice on what each individual needs to work on. It's great!

I took Thursday off so a friend and I can play the championship course and use our free round cards because they expire on October 1st. I'm loving golf so much! I wish I could express it! When we played Sunday with the pros, my short game was spot on! I was hitting all my chip shots dead on and making every putt. It felt great! I still have to get my drive straightened out and may have gotten the right input. Gotta hit the range and see if it works.

I'll let y'all know when my regular workout schedule gets back up and running! Been playing so much golf, I haven't had time to do anything else!

I worked all day. No time for a workout today. In the evening, at a meeting, I fell. I thought my chair was underneath me. But, it was not. I'm okay mostly. A little bruised, both ego and butt.

I will go to see my chiropractor tomorrow to make sure I'm okay.

I took a rest day yesterday. Tonight will be a 3-4 mile run. It's still in the high 80's/low 90's here but we should have cooler temps in the mornings very soon.

Tricia ~ I'm so glad you are enjoying golf and excelling at it to boot! Congrats! I'm so happy you are feeling better as well. Keep up the good work!

Alisha ~ I'm sorry about your fall. I'm the queen of falls, stumbles and tumbles. Once at work I was rolling my chair forward and one of the wheels got stuck on the plastic mat and the chair stopped but I didn't. I went flying and hit the ground pretty hard. I really didn't think anything of it but later that night I was sitting in bed and it felt like I was sitting on a rock. I got up and looked at my bed but nothing was there, then I remember my fall earlier in the day. I went into the bathroom, pulled down my pants and one whole cheek was a dark purple...the whole cheek! It took a long time for that bruise to go away. I hope you are okay!
 
Alisha - I hope you are okay! I would think it would be more damaging to your ego than your body . . . at least, I hope so!

Jane - I know you'll be glad for some cooler temps! We are already in the fall temps. Looking forward to 76 tomorrow! That fall must have been painful! I used to fall down my stairs all the time. I've had some significant bruises from that! I guess we three are masters of the fall!

I have golf tomorrow, Saturday and Sunday! One of Stephen's fellow PhD students is submitting his Qualifying Paper on Friday, so he's having a celebratory party on Saturday. We're going to that. I'll have a very busy weekend again!

TGIF!

I took yesterday as a rest day. I am taking a rest day today as well. I have a 10K race tomorrow morning. It is suppose to be a bit cooler in the morning around 68 degrees. That will feel good and the race is at 7:30 which is nice.

Tricia ~ Enjoy your weekend. It all sounds like fun!

Alisha ~ I hope you are ok after your fall.
