September 08 Check-in ::: Sept 4th :::

ShyWolf

Cathlete
I'm dragging a bit this morning; actually woke up late. I did go to sleep at a decent time but apparently it wasn't enough as I still feel tired.

Once I get this coffee in me I'll be right as rain ;)

I have Step Blast w/ ME abs for today but I miss my TM runs and have done step for the past two days so I'm going to do a nice run for my cardio instead.

See you all later ......

Good morning Vilma and all that follow.

Today I have a 30 min run on schedule, but since I don't run, I'm going to do a light step workout for about 40 mins, then I have to do abs. Well, I have to get ready and the kids too, I have to work today. I'll bb after work and workout.

I hope you all have an awesome workout today!

Vilma: Enjoy your workout today! I know how you feel, I'm still tired and DH woke me up at 5:30am since he was getting ready for work at that time and I can't sleep with the light on

Hi Vilma, Ivy and all who follow.

I was up at 5:20 to get my workout done. I did LIC 48 1/2 cardio and added the blasts on. Finished with abs. It was actually a good work out.

Did you see Cathe posted Sept rotation:p Happy Happy Happy. I will start it tomorrow.

Today is WI and I know the scale isn't going to by my friend. I was bad yesterday. And it shows on the scale. Why do I do that to myself.

BBL

Lori

Good Morning, Vilma, Ivy, Lori!!

Scheduled for me today is PUB (no abs) and PLB, floorwork. Do you think I can do these without wearing footwear? I think I broke my 4th toe this morning. I caught it on a book sticking out from a bookcase
2i8d4ao.gif
. Crazy as it sounds, my first thought is "I WON'T BE ABLE TO WORK OUT!!" and I panicked and cried (okay, it hurts like hell too!).

I saw the rotation that Cathe posted, but I'm going to stay with FF's Lower Body Blast, if at all possible .... I can't do "Fridays" off so much, so it wouldn't work for me.

Vilma: Enjoy your run!!

Ivy: Step sounds good! Enjoy!

Lori: Good luck at WI!... maybe it's not as bad as it seems. I know, I don't know why I eat "crap" half the time either. I always feel like a fool the next day for doing so.

I think I'm off to call the doctor, to see if they'd do anything for my toe... Oh *#$*!
184.gif

Good morning! Chris, yowch! Your poor toe, and I would definitely have the same first thought as you did. A lot of times I stop myself from doing something crazy in normal life, because I think maybe I might injure myself and not be able to work out. :)

Vilma, when I saw your post about going to bed early last night -- it was probably still about 5ish where I am, and all I could think was that I wish I could go to bed right now, too. I still had dinner and a meeting to go! I'm so tired with this school schedule. Later today I will take the kids to piano lessons and probably get a nap while I wait for them. :)

Have a great day!

-Beth

Hey everyone!!

Happy that I have a rotation to follow now. I am starting the Sept. rotation today. Today will be CTX step and intervals and core max #1..

Vilma: I have been feeling tired lately too. I got enough rest last night. maybe it wasn't restful sleep??!! Not sure. I like waking up refreshed like everyone does!! LOL

Ivy: I can never sleep after hubby gets up either. Have a great day at work and enjoy your step workout..

Lori: Good luck with the WI. I do the same thing. I am really good and then I blow it!! I am thrilled about the rotation too. I am starting today..

Chris: Hope that toe is ok..LOL, I have thought the same thing before when I get hurt. How am I going to get my workout in? We are so dedicated!!

Beth: Hope you get that nap in..Have a great day.

Ok, off to finish school lessons and get that workout done!!

Good morning ladies!!

From yesterday's thread...Chris, actually my daughter is like your kids - wants to do everything for herself, and, you're right, it is frustrating sometimes! Like when she wants to pour the full gallon of milk herself. But, I do encourage her since the boys are totally opposite! Wow, Hottie, you are too cool!!! ;) How awesome that you know Cedie!

Vilma, hope you can catch up on your sleep. I know, I love running too and start to miss it. I think I may try to get in a treadmill run tomorrow.

Ivy, enjoy your day at work. I can't sleep with a light on or the TV. DH needs the TV to fall asleep. Needless to say, it works out well that he works nights!

Lori, maybe the scale won't be as cruel as you are anticipating. I do the same thing, eat crappy and then wonder why the heck I did that! My worst time is at night.

Chris, ow! I hope your toe is OK. I have the exact same thoughts when I hurt myself - oh no! what if I can't workout?? I'm paranoid about it, actually. I think you would still be able to do PUB and PLB floor work with no shoes - just don't drop any weights! ;)

Beth, I know, it's hard getting used to the school schedules again. Mornings are probably the hardest for me. In the summer I just have to get me ready. Now I have to get four kids up and fed and ready for school.

Kathy (and Lori), have fun with the new rotation. It does look good, but I'm going to stick with the lower body rotation for now.

Today was LowMax for me.

Have a great day all!

Joanne

good morning!

Vilma - have fun with your workout! Isn't sleeping in nice? I did it today too for a glorious 30 minutes. It rocked.

Ivy - I don't run either. I hate the jiggling motion from my chest and butt. I had to do the elliptical now also because my feet have issues. But I really want to start training to run again so I can run a 5K with DH. Which step workout did you do?

Lori - LIC cardio is the only step cardio I can get my DH to try. He likes the blasts a lot. I think its a great workout, but for whatever reason, I have some real trouble with the first blast on 8 inches. I'm not sure if its a balance issue, but the other three are just fine. The first one though...man...

Chris -- I hope your toe is ok! Maybe it just got stubbed? When I took shotokan a while back a freshman student slammed into my toe so hard that it was bleeding and icky and everything but one of the black belts sort of popped it back into place. Very painful. Wouldn't wish that on anyone.

Beth -- piano lessons...<grins> For me it was viola lessons. Remember, go to sleep! :)

Kathy - you homeschool your kids right? So, when they're older, will you homeschool them with Cathe for PE? :) Have fun with your workout!

Joanne - thanks! Though like I said to my childhood friend, it's cool that I know her but I was so forgettable at that age (and they only have a couple PE teachers for the whole school) that it almost makes me sad that there's no way she can remember me. Have fun with LowMax. I am very excited to try that one again. But...I only do 6 inches since I just started.

So, it feels like I broke my butt. I think these last couple days I've been pushing it extra heavy because I was so bad the week before. Yesterday, I did Step Blast (without the challenge, was running late), went on a the TD at the school gym during my downtime (nothing too hard), but then DH really wanted to do 4DS Kickbox so I did that with him. I had originally planned to do some weights in the evening but after all of that, I was just sprawled on my living room floor going, huh, ceilings can get dirty.

Anyway, this morning it feels like my butt is going, "don't you dare, DON'T YOU DARE" to me so I'm thinking of listening to it. I'm might just walk on the TM in the next 15 minutes because its cooler outside and it takes me about 8 mins to walk to the school gym from where I work, but I'm not too sure. I definitely want to do an upper body workout so I think I'm going to try to do GS Chest and Triceps.

And on a separate note, I find it funny that the "Hardcore Maniacs" check-in group has renamed themselves to the "Hardcore Hottie Maniacs" after my blog on the 1st. Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery right? LOL. Still, its my name!! :)

Ok, playing more with Google Chrome and then something productive. Will be on and off all day.

Hey everyone

The scale wasn't to mean to me I am up .2. To me that is maintaining.;)

One of the WW members lost 12 pounds in her first week. Amazing. I couldn't believe it. She is a big girl but she didn't look huge to me. The most I've lost in my first week of WW was 4lbs.

Chris how is the toe? Where you able to work out?

Hope everyone is having a good workout and good day. I will be starting Sept rotation tomorrow I will be doing legs and Glutes. My rest day will be Sunday. Do you think there is a reason why she put Fri as a rest day???? I should have asked on the rotation thread but I was to happy to even notice what day was the rest day. LOL

Completed my run & my ab work after my unusual for me nap.

The past two days I have been so darned tired its just so unusual for me to even nap let alone before a workout but that was the case yet again for me.
shocked017.gif

I know if I didn't fuel up and catch some Zzzz's I would not have been able to do anything let alone WO.

My cycle is changing and I know its from AF coming soon I just wish it would get here so I have some Oommph to my day.

Ivy Hope your having a good day w/ the tots at work

Lori Good for you on maintaining! and getting an awesome WO in.

A WW member lost 12 # in a week? WOW

Well as we all know it may be water weight and hopefully when her weight loss gets more steady she'll stick OP.

I've been doing Core this week and I'm surprised at how well behaved I've been. Seriously that gain I saw on the scale is now all gone but it just freaked me out and has kept me honest staying OP so it was good.
3120.gif

I'm back to eating better and all the junk food I don't desire it.

Chris - so how's the toe? Seriously I hope you didn't break it. Sending you hope you feel better vibes your way.

Beth
Grab yourself a power nap - for the past 2 days thats what I've been doing and it helps!

Kathy Have fun with Cathe's Rotation this month I'm saving it for some other time since I really am enjoying this rotation I'm doing.

How are the lessons going? Do you follow a preplanned agenda? Kudos to you for home schooling I don't have the patience and knowing my kids they'd get bored with me lol :p

Joanne I know I miss my runs so if they are not on a rotation I sub a cardio for it

My DH is the same way he sleeps with the tv on and I can't have any type of lights or noise to sleep so its a good thing we are on different sleeping schedules. He was off last night and tonight and he tried that nonsense with the tv last night and I growled at him so he shut it off.

I wish we never had a tv in the bedroom

Hottie OMG I was cracking up trying to imagine a broken butt and the ceilings!

So are you liking that new browser? I love my Firefox and my DH will not use anything but IE which I hate.

Hmmm I guess thats about it for me.

Later Chickadees!

Hi Ladies,

Today was supposed to be a 30 min interval run +abs so I did Imax 3 Intervals 1 through 5 plus LIC Abs. IMAX 3 was so much fun! I haven’t done that workout in more than a year!! Work was great today! So now I won’t have to go again till next Tuesday.

Lori: WTG on your workout! I love LIC cardio! That’s great that you only had a .2 increase on the scale.

Chris: OUCH!! I hope you toe is ok and I hope it gets better soon! I like Cathe’s Rotation for September too, but I’m going to stick with Cardio Blast rotation and will do her Sept one some other time.

Kathy: Enjoy your CTX workout today! How funny, I was going to do that workout today. But I did Imax 3 instead since I haven’t done it in like ages, lol.

Joanne: WTG on your workout today! I also haven’t done Low max in a LONG time, just like Imax 3.

Hottie: My DH likes to run in the 5K. I don’t like the jiggling of things while running either, lol! I did Imax 3 Intervals 1-5 and it was actually fun! This was my first Cathe DVD and it brought back some good memories, like the time I almost ate the TV because I tripped on the step, LOL!!

Well, I’m off to go to my neighbors house to get some stuff she has for me and then to get my DD from school and then cook some dinner. I hope you all have a wonderful day today and I’ll bb tomorrow.

Vilma: WTG on your run! I had a great time at work with the kids. I won't be working now till next Tuesday since it's only Tuesday's and Thursday's. Have a good day!:)

Quick reply here.... I am a big fan of power naps! Lately I've been reading out loud to my kids quite a bit (The Famous Five series, which you may never heard of -- they're british, from the 40's). I fall asleep reading to them! They scream at me "wake up!" but when I finally get to the end of the chapter I sleep for 10 or 15 minutes and wake up very refreshed.

As for problems with a tv in the bedroom.... we have no real tv connection, but lately my husband has been very hooked on the reruns on hulu.com. He brings the laptop to bed, but the advantage is that he can wear ear phones. I fall asleep listening to npr podcasts. If I wake in the night, I stick that in my ear and I'm back asleep faster than just lying there (usually). If I think I'm going to be awake through the hour long podcast, that's when I'll get up and do the crazy cathe thing.

Back to work.....

That says it all: It's broken!

Son of a you-know-what!

I came out of the xray, the tech told me "You broke it good enough so even I can tell it's broken", and I just about burst into tears! As soon as I got to the waiting room, I was sobbing. Because .... I was mourning my workouts!!! I know, I'm a nutjob, but I know you guys all are too, and that you'd understand!!
consoling2.gif

So no workout for me today. I've been mostly on the phone. With work (i have to be out this weekend, and go see employee health tomorrow), and my mom (needed sympathy... She's 84, but God Bless her, offered to do something for me!), and with Zach's doc, seeing if they'd give Greg a note to stay home tonight, to take care of Zach. Blah-blah-blah...

Tomorrow I'm totally going to do PUB. And maybe PLB floor on Saturday. Add in some abs. I can NOT be put out of commision! I refuse!

I asked the doctor what my activity should be, and he said, it would only be limited by pain. So if it hurts, don't do it. Right now , it hurts like HELL. I have it taped....And it hurts ....

Vilma: Glad you got in your run! I know how it feels to miss them. AND your power nap!! I remember falling asleep with my youngest for about 10 minutes in the afternoons for his naps. It felt amazing when I got up! I bet you're more tired with TOM coming. I get so exhausted, even being on the pill , with TOM. soooo exhausted. It's a crappy feeling!

Kathy: I know how relieved you are to have a rotation to follow! :) Whenever you guys do CTX, I always want it again! LOL!!

Lori: So glad to hear you only gained .2!!! That is a maintain!! Now back to business! ... WOW! 12 lbs! Usually people with a LOT of weight lose big the first week, but I never heard 12 lbs before!!... I never thought of starting the rotation and making Sunday , the off day for Friday! Good idea! Except, I can't do much now... :(

Ivy:
Glad you had fun with IMAX3! that was your FIRST Cathe workout? Holy cow! I LOL at the "memories" though!!

Hottie: OMG on all the workouts you did yesterday!! No wonder your butt was on the floor!! You're crazy! I think a nice light walk would be very appropriate today (or maybe a good stretch or yoga routine). ARe you a member of the Hardcore Hotties? Was it a blog they used from you?

I also have to admit to liking my DH working nights, so I can sleep better, without his snoring! Shhhh... don't tell anyone!

Off to... do nothing! I'm keeping my piggie elevated with ice for now...

Until the troops come home....

I am SO sorry about your toe! How long does it normally take for those things to heal? You're a nurse so there's really little I can tell you, but down gallons of Green Tea. It should help reduce the inflammation.

I am not a member of the Hardcore Hottie Maniacs. I just noticed they they changed their name and I tracked it back to...the day after my last blog post (about video games) so I'm very unfairly pointing it to myself. :p

I'm so sorry about your toe Chris ! I know exactly how you feel when I had the ankle problem. Just do some pilates or floor work like you had planned until it gets better. I hope your toe heals fast.

HOttie: Yes, I do homeschool..I would love for them to do Cathe for exercise. I am encouraging it now. But, they are not coordinated enough and they she is too tough!! LOL..Instead, I teach them and a group of our friends a homeschool PE class that meets once a week. I have them stretch, run, situps, pushups and some sort of sport. They really enjoy that.

Chris: So, sorry to hear about that toe.
4076.gif
Get better soon..
toyou.gif

Lori: Wow, that is alot for a first week..Good job with that maintenance. I always look at it as it could have been worse..

Beth: I do the same thing. Worse when Chris reads to me at night. We go to his room on his bed and I get too comfy and the next thing I know he tells me wake up mom..

Ivy: CTX was a nice short workout.

I did day one of the rotation. CTX steps and interval and coremax #1. As I was doing the CTX, I kept thinking that I had never done it before. It was a good workout for 30 minutes or so..

Gotta think about dinner now..

Awwww Man Chris!!!!

I'm so sorry your piggy toe is broken!!!

That sucks big time
4.gif
but yes keep up with your workouts albeit modified... As we all know LB floor work can be killer .......

I hope it heals quickly :(

Well seems like the kids are getting out early on Friday as Hurricane Hanna is supposed to bring some strong winds & rain; so I need to stock up on foods that don't need much cooking and get extra batteries for flashlights - I pray our power stays intact

picture.php

Thanks for the sympathy, girls...

I caved this afternoon, feeling so sorry for myself, and ate choc. chips & PB AND fluff

I'm going to try to make a nice healthy supper, and to cheer up. (my toe is killing me though, especially since I RE-STUBBED the SAME TOE on the SAME BOOK CASE answering the door for my son's friend this afternoon!!!!!)...

Anyhow, thank you!!!!

OUCH Chris.Stay away from that bookshelf!! ALso, if you get back on here Chris..I have a question (medical). What would be symptoms of an infection. The story goes like this...Monday I spent ALL day peeling and cutting carrots that hubby grew in the garden so that I could put them in the freezer. Well, somehow during the peeling and cutting I must have cut my finger and didn't know it. Well, I thought I cleaned it good. But, now I am wondering. I have been feeling yucky all week. My body aches, I have a headache and this afternoon I was feeling a little feverish..I plan to call and go to the dr tomorrow. But, I would love to know your opinion. Or do you think it is just a bug? Inside the cut it looks a little yellowish white. But, no puss is oozing or anything/ Sorry for so much info...What do you think? Any of you nurses out there...Thanks..

Vilma: Stay safe during the storm...Ike is right behind Hanna too...
