Secondary Question Regarding Slow & Heavy

Okay, so I now want to ask - After a 3-week rotation of S&H, when would you do it again? Should I take only a one week break and do more cardio and some circuit or should I wait longer before doing the S&H rotation again?

Sorry, but I'm not used to doing rotations. I was a cardio girl before! Now, after listening here for a while and doing Cathe workouts, I'm learning that keeping things mixed up is the best way to go! :)

Thanks for your constant support and input!

Tricia..

In my opinion..I'd wait about 6 weeks before uding S & H again...when I do rotations, I do them for 6 week intervals...in about that time, your body will be needing different exercises to keep it guessing, which is what you want for maximum results.

I did a Cathe rotation that she posted many years ago which called for 3 weeks Slow and Heavy, then 3 weeks of Gym Style and another 3 weeks of Slow and Heavy.

I really like this rotation and the results.

Wow! Six weeks, huh? Hmmm. Have to see how this 3 weeks go! Guess I also need to get the Gym Style series next to try that rotation! Slowly, but surely, I'm adding to my Cathe library. Very slowly, but it's coming!

I'd love to do some of Cathe's monthly rotations, but I don't have nearly enough of her dvds yet to do it! I'll be happy to get STS for my birthday in October, then perhaps I'll have a better collecton by January to start doing her other rotations!

Thanks for your help!

Carola..

You've just given me my next rotation..this is, by far, my favorite way to train with weights.

Do you remember which rotation that was I love the GS series.

Hi Tricia-

If you like S & H and aren't not bored with it, then go for another 3 weeks. Its a fabulous series for building muscle and if its working, I'd say go longer.

However, it does take a lot of focus and then "fun factor" may not be there for you. If that is the case, I think rotating with the GS series is a great idea.

If you stick w/ S & H for six weeks, I would definitely take a week or two off and do something totally different just to get some recovery time in.

Take care, Lynn M.

Thanks Lynn! I think I might take S&H out to 6 weeks, only because it's taking me this first week to get used to the routine and figure out my weights! I love the intense weight workout! I, so didn't go heavy enough on my first leg day. Didn't even feel it on Tuesday and I went out and did the first day of week 3 of my Couch to 5K on Tuesday!

That will also give me enough time to save to get the GS series to work in for the next rotation! It does bother me though that I'm not doing any of my Cathe cardio right now! I feel like I'll be starting over when I go back to it, but I really want to get to where I can run a 5k with my DH. Oh, well, at least I'm still keeping my weight down and even losing a little bit!

Thanks again!

Tricia

Hi! :)

I just finished a 4 week rotation using S&H, then I took a week off, and now I'm going to do fitnessfreak's Leg Blast rotation that is 4 weeks, then I'm going to do the S&H one again! I really liked it alot!!
