Seasun Zieger "Bosu Blast" 2006

Cathlete
I have a couple of days off and am itching to catch up before I leave once again. (grandchildren sitting). In the mean time I've found a great bargain and a fantastic DVD.

I've been wanting a Bosu for so long and finally got one. Fortunately I already have the "Bosu Blast" DVD (this DVD also comes with Sharon Money Twombly "Xerobics") Amazing, very advanced and a much challenging DVD. This will keep me going for awhile.

The fun factor is incredible and if you make a goal you set for yourself in these workouts you should be rewarded. Xerobics is more doable but Bosu Blast is a little more intimidating and much harder. Just the way I like it. And the core and ab work section is just as intense, perhaps even more.

As I get older I need more balance challenges in my life and this workout fits the bill. It's truly a find. I'll do this one at least once a week for a very long time. Know that I can not do the whole thing yet, but I'm working on it.

I just wanted to edit in hopes that Cathe one day will do a Bosu workout as well. WOW!

Oh, before I forget, Target has the Bosu on sale for (I think) only $89.00. They usually run around $100.00 and over.

Anyone else have this DVD? What do you think of it?

RE: Seasun Zieger

Funny, I was just looking into this workout (I have all Seasun's other DVDs), but didn't realize how much a BOSU ball WAS!!! That was a shock. I really like Seasun, but do you know of any other quality bosu workouts that would make the purchase worth it (for the BOSU i mean)?

RE: Seasun Zieger

Run to Step,

Thank you for your post.

For me that one workout is worth the purchase. There are others I plan to get as well. Advanced ones though, are up my alley. There is a beginners DVD that comes with the Bosu. It's called BOSU Balance Trainer Total Body Workout.

Mindy Mylrea has a couple out, advanced
Rob Glick has a couple out, Intermediate to advanced
Gay Gasper has an advanced one out
Chalene Johnson has a Beginners to Intermediate one out

I think there are others also, perhaps a google search would find more.

You can also rent them from Netflix to view or use Collage Video to view them as well.

From what I understand about the Bosu is, that even hospitals/rehabs centers use them to help people grow stronger. I don't think you can go wrong in purchasing one, if you want to work hard and obtain all the benefits it comes with it.

Hope you get one, it is a blast!

Janie

RE: Seasun Zieger

Thanks for recommending this Janie. I just purchased a BOSU myself (in fact I just took it out of the box and aired it up a little while ago). I've preordered some new workouts that use the BOSU.

The Parts Series by Tracey Staehle. You can watch a clip at www.fitbytracey.com
Slo-Mo Strength Challenge and Hi/Lo Dome Challenge by Amy Bento. Amy doesn't have her clips up yet but she has lots of pictures. Her website is: www.nrgfitness.net.

Both look really good and I can't wait to try out my new piece of exercise equipment. I'm also hoping Cathe comes out with a workout that uses the BOSU in the future.

RE: Seasun Zieger

I have a Bosu, and the Seasun workout is really great, especially the core section, imo.

I also really like Rob's workout. He really helps explain how to work on the bosu and gives you some great pointers.

I preordered Amy's Bosu workout, but passed on Tracey's. I ended up trading her last sculpt workout as the bosu was used barely as a prop, and I just didn't care for it.

I have Gay's bosu workout, maybe I will give that one a shot today!!

RE: Seasun Zieger

Where could I get Gay Gasper's BOSU DVD. I really like her teaching style and I'm looking for more BOSU videos. I really love Seazun's video too. I wonder if she is ever going to come out with more videos?

RE: Seasun Zieger

I got mine at Collage, but it is good. I just did it again today. There are three sections, one of lower body and stabilization on th bosu, one of upper body and core using weights, and one of interval training, but all the jumping is on the bosu. I felt like I was flying!!

Seasun had sent me an email months ago saying she was thinking about getting back into the video studio, but I have heard nothing since. I know she is very busy with her family.

RE: Seasun Zieger

I balked at the price too, but about 6 months ago someone here saw that GNC had them on sale. Don't quote me, but I think it was $60-70 on sale. I wouldn't have considered buying it at full price just because there aren't a lot of videos devoted to it.

The core work that Seasun does on that video is the toughest ab work I have in my library! There is still some stuff on it that I can't do and have to work up to. Also, IMO cardio on the Bosu is more strenuous than anything on the step.

I don't use my Bosu a lot but work it into my rotation at least once a month. If you don't have any videos specific to Bosu, you can stand on it while doing weights. It recruits a lot more muscles as you're continually trying to keep your balance. You can also flip it dome side down and do your pushups and planks off the flat side. That finds some muscles you didn't know you had too.

RE: Seasun Zieger

Great idea, TK, I am going to use it in my weight workouts with Cathe.
I was the one who posted about the GNC sale, that is how I got mine for around $60.00 and free shipping.

I do alot of my ab workouts with mine as well.

RE: Seasun Zieger

Thanks Janie for the info, and bringing up this topic. I am thinking the BOSU would be a wonderful Christmas list item! I am looking forward to trying something new!

RE: Seasun Zieger

I LOVE both workouts on this DVD. Bosu Blast is awesome ad well as All Body Cardio. Greg is taking suggestions for workouts for his next series. I've asked for another cardio workout with the bosu. To give your suggestions go to www.ciavideo.com and join the forums. Go to video comments and questions then go to new 2800 series for 2008.

Another fan of BOSU, especially Seasun's. I like the low impact, high intensity work.

Another way I've used the BOSU, aside from how Truton posted, is to use it for the cardio portions that use the high step topper in HSC and HSTA. It helps with both the fun factor and intensity factor for those workouts, IMO.
