SATURDAY CHEETAHS, get up and go!!!

Christine....big smiles here knowing Kimo is much better!!! I would be happy to share a room with you for Chicago! I think I can just put some of my refund money aside for the plane fare and I best go check it out...:D. I bet you love your mini with the gas prices now. My RAV4 does pretty well too. Be diligent icing the achilles as it really does help. Good job with the 4.5 miles with Jimmy and DH.

Shelly...you will laugh, but I remember Heston best from Planet of the Apes!!! yes, I went to 2 days of running when my knees started to hurt. But my semiteninosus is feeling a lot better and I can now do curls on my weight bench without pain there!!

Cathy...LOL about the weight gain during training. I was one that always lost weight, might have had something to do with the weight lifting?? I would be happy to share a 12 week marathon training plan from RW that I used for my 1st mary when you get 12 weeks out. It was based more on weekly mileage, I did 32, 36 and 40 weekly miles alternating them around through the 12 week period. Thanks for the movie review...:)

Jackie..I agree and am LOL about the fun & DOMS! It would be great to meet you in Chicago! Good job with iTread and the 7.2 miles!!

Dallas...WAY TO GO!!!! That is so cool you will be doing Chicago!!!! I did not know you were a math teacher....so will you look into the job offer? Good job with P90X L&B and iClimb. Like I said to Cathy, I normally lost 5-10 lbs marathon training. I also often got a cold sore during training as your immune system takes alot of hits! I like David Cook and Carly...:)

Beth...I think the GS premixes would be a good choice. Nice to know a bit more about you...:)...I imagine raising 2 kids alone has some challenges. I think that is cool your son got you into running. Me, I live in Northern Calif, married 27 years, no kids, 1 dog and 2 cats and a couple of chickens and turkeys..:D

I had fun with Amy, did combos 1&2 and 1&2 combined from KBX and then combos 3&4 and 3&4 combined from ITR, then abs from Amy's HLK and some curls and extensions on my new weight bench!! It got to be 90 here, so I managed some time in the sun too, gotta work on the tan...:D

Christine :: I'm relieved to hear Kimo is doing better. :) :) :)

Carole :: The Planet of the Apes references made me snort. :7

Dallas :: I am following Galloway's To Finish plan for the time being, with some tweaks based upon on Carole's advice. His plan calls for "walk/jogs." But I am just running as I normally would except that I'm making a point to take walking breaks. I'm still workin' out just how closely I want to follow his plan. As mentioned to Carole earlier, he recommends a walk break already within the first mile whereas I had it in mind to run most of it, maybe walk at water stations. I'm glad we'll be training together and can turn to the veterans here for guidance...Anyway, there is NO CHANCE of me leaving anyone behind, trust me! Slow n' low, that is the tempo! :) BTW, I'll definitely contribute to the TnT fund as well.

"Do you want to feel my spatula?" Run, Fat Boy, Run

Good evening ladies!

Well, I am positively knackered. I will admit that my leetle workout this morning kicked my arse but good  }( and now I'm really feeling it. I'm ready for bed!

Today was the first time that I have ever combined a run with another workout and, let me tell you, I certainly went out with some tired legs. The weird thing is that I thought I was running really slllooooowww but, when I got back to the house and mapped the route that I made up as I went along, I found that I had actually run much farther than I had estimated by my watch...5 miles in 45:18, that's the closest I've gotten to getting back to my normal 9 minute pace so I guess I'm happy with that :7. Oh yeah, I ran ou tof time for ab work but that's no biggie. I can't wait to see how I feel tomorrow though and I was contemplating doing Gauntlet tomorrow morning...I'm a little afeared at this point }(.

Sunny - Great workout today! I did see your post about the boxing circuit in CL and it does look like fun. I just don't know if I could do a workout from a mag...I'm too addicted to Cathe lol! IA that all the race chatter around here is making me itch to get to that half again but I know I need to take my time so I don't have any "issues" again. Oooh, let us know when you'll be in the NJ area...I would definitely make the drive down.

Cathy - I'm so psyched that you'll have all that support in Chicago. I so wish I could commit to the GTG but, between not knowing what I'll be doing career/school wise and very tight finances, I just can't say one way or the other. I soooooo want to join you guys! Glad you liked the movie...I thought the trailers looked hilarious!

Carole - Glad to see you got to break in the bench...nice workout! You must be looking forward to running 3 days a week now. Oh, that's too bad about AI...I didn't think we'd lose him this soon but so many of them are just that good this year...although the country chick and dreads can go (sorry, don't know their names lol).

Christine - Soooooo relieved to hear that Kimo is doing much better. I'm sure you'll have her back to her old self in no time! Uh, yeah, ITA about the gas prices....yeowch (especially for diesel  ). Great job on the run today. I'm with you...I just don't think I'm wired for anything more than 13.1 :7.

Shelly - Uuuuuh, *your* workouts and *your* wacky schedule would just plain KILL me LOL!!! You scare me sometimes with what you do on a daily basis ! Sorry that you begin a long stretch tonight. I had to LOL about today being your Monday...we're in the same boat hear. Tomorrow is my Friday, well sort of *rolls eyes*. WTG with the packing!!!

Jackie - Great job on the 7.2 miles today. Wow, you had a busy day today...I hope you got everything done that you hoped for. I'm sure you're just itching to get into your beautiful new house!

Dallas - WOW, you go girl!!!! That's so great that you'll be joining Cathy! Sorry to hear that things did not work out in you DH's favor...that whole situation is just ridiculous. Great workout!

Beth - Welcome!!! Nice to have you join the check-in. I think you've got a very sound plan there. That's so great that you and your DS have a love of running to share. Short blurb about me...I'm currently single (have the most wonderful DSO), living in NY and I train horses (jumpers). I found this check-in last Sept when I first started running and I don't know what I would do without all the support that these amazing ladies provide. Great workout today!

Waves hi to any other Cheetahs who might be checking in!!!

Okay, MUST get to bed. Hasta manana chicas!
