Saturday 6/5 workout

Afternoon girls,

Previewed most of the P90X workouts and decided that I would sub all cardio work with my running. So for the next 13 weeks I'll only be doing the strength training w/o's in P90X, starting this Monday. And my 13yo son wants to join me. I don't have a pull up bar and not in a position to buy one till september. IF I can find something like that here in the Netherlands. Does anyone know how I can sub these? I thought I could sit on the floor, legs straight, tubing around my feet and do a sort of rowing motion. Would that do?

As I won't do any of the P90X cardio w/o's I decided to give CardioX a try today before I would start the official schedule. CardioX has a number of exercises that my PT had me do for my knee:) Like the kick front/side/back without touching the floor, the jumping from side to side touching the shoe of the other leg and winter tyre jumps. He'll be pleased when I tell him this Friday cause I want him to take a look at my knees:( . I like the variety in CardioX. I added on the ME Upper split.

Have a nice day ladies,
Dutchie:D

Hey Dutchie

Have you thought of getting one of those rubber bands? You can hang it up from your ceiling somehow -- that would do.
My 16 y old son is doing the P90X too and he is getting his butt kicked big time.:7

Today I subbed Kenpo ( notice: not Kenzo:) ) with 40 min cardio, bike, nordictrack and row.
I also did a core/ab workout:
bc abs
me abs
kpc abs
sjp abs

I subbed the rollups and ball exchange of kpc with medicine ball! Oh man, it is much harder that way.

Have a great weekend ladies!

Hi Mari,

I workout in my living room. Big enough space for two to workout. I can hide everything away: db, bb, plates, stability ball, mats, high step, low step ;-) dynabands, tubing. But I don't want any big hooks or other contraptions (sp?) on my ceiling.

I'll remember though for when one of my sons has left home to go to uni, I'll convert his room into a workout room just for me.

Sounds like you had a great workout yourself.

Hi you 2 I did a basic and an 8 min. taebo this morning with wrist weights and handweights. Just needed something different this morning. And after yesterday's workout my foot was really killing me. It was supposed to be a circuit workout on the rotation but Circuit Max would have killed my foot/heel more so I decided on taebo. It was good and I actually broke a sweat and I don't normally do that with taebo anymore.

It is raining here and I didn't get to lay in the sun yesterday because it turned out to be overcast all day when it was supposed to be sunny;( !!

Anyway looks like good workouts all around.:) :7

Have a great day!!:D

Hi girls....Dutchie I think somebody here does one arm rows with dumbells for the pull-ups. And you will have to let me know about CardioX. I don't do that one until my 5th week I think. Mari I am subbing too! I want to do KPC in stead of Kenpo and then I'll do Ab Ripper, you got in an awesome core workout! Annette take it easy on your foot...does icing your heel for about 15 minutes help? I think I might get some sun to lay out in today....I hope so...have a great day ladies...:)...Carole

Hi Carole,

Sorry, I'm responding a little late. But usually by the time I turn off the computer it's probably early afternoon in your parts or even earlier depending how close to the west coast you live.

Cardio X is different from Cathe cardio. It starts with yoga as a warm up. But you do warm up, trust me. Then there are a number of exercises that increase in intensity or you get more tired and it feels like it gets more intens. Some exercises I'd never done before or heard about. Some I know because my FT had me do them, but I'd never seen them in any w/o video or aerobics class (and I've been working out for 24yrs. Boy I'm old) My HR didn't go any higher than 161 though, so I was still in my zone. I think that's because of all the breaks you get. Cathe doesn't give you any breaks, that's another difference. And at the end of Cardio X you do a superman then quickly turn around and do a banana. My back wasn't very pleased with that one so I did the superman and the turn and I raised my legs so high that my banana must have had a genetical defect. :)

Thats okay Dutchie....I didn't need an answer right away, after all I won't do it for another 2 weeks. Thanks though for explaining. It sounds similar to the Plyo X workout. I know what you mean though about working out for so long...I'm with you there about 26 years for me..:)...I think you will find exercises also in the other workouts that you have never seen...I did. I really like the weightlifting exercise in Shoulders and Arms that I have never done. Keeps it very interesting. Superman to a banana...oh my.....can't wait to try it!....thanks again...and have good rest of the day...:)...Carole
