Afternoon Mariángeles,

I love the Gauntlet, haven't done it in a while.

Just ran for 1h12 with son no.1 We dribbled (that's what we call it over here) for two minutes, walked for two min, repeated and when we were dribbling for the third time after two minutes we slowly increased speed until we found our rhythm of the day. We covered a little over 9K, but like I said before, in my long runs it's about the distance, not how fast I was.

But I have to make a little confession, I was counting my steps per minute and in the middle of my run I was doing 192 steps/min, at the end I was at 188 steps/min. I read somewhere that the average is 180 steps/min. So I do have a pretty good leg turnover, but I'm a really slow runner. Maybe my stride is very short? BTW, did you know that back in March, when I started running, I did 60 steps per minute? Is that progress or what?

I'm about to be invaded by adolescents, so got to jump in the shower.

Dutchie42 :)

Afternoon Mariángeles and Dutchie,

me too, love the Gauntlet, maybe I'll do it tomorrow too. Dutchie, I'm awed by your running! I just started running this fall, even though Cathe cardios still remain my main form of cardio. Running is really a nice add-on for variety, though. 180 steps/min sounds quite a lot to me, though I've never really counted my steps. But I'm usually listening to music with about 150-160 BPM and most of the time I'm running at the same tempo with the music, so I'm assuming that would be about the steps/min for me too. But I'm only a beginner in running, so I definitely don't run very fast, and don't even aim to at this point. I enjoy it most when I do it slow enough to enjoy the surroundings (I usually run a forest path) and keep the pace slow enough for me.

I'm getting far off the subject here...;)) today was MIC and Bootcamp Cardio only premix. That was really tough, and I still feel it in my legs. I was going to go for a run, but I think I'll put that off til tomorrow.

Enjoy the weekend, everybody,

Maria

Good morning ladies....Mariángeles, I also like the Gauntlet, quite a fun workout.

Dutchie....I have never counted steps but I know there would be less for me in a long run at the end! You have definitely improved your running. I also don't much worry about time in a long run. 9K is a great distance for you and no 1 son...:)...have fun with the adolescents... :D

For me today after a tough week of running....a nice relaxing Yoga workout....enjoy the day....:)...Carole

My workout for today is done.Today I am going to see the film collateral with Tom Cruise and directed by Michael Mann.Have you seen it?What do you think about this film?.

Dutchie do not worry about to count step, the most important thing is that you enjoy the workout. In my opinion that's what works.

Maria you have done a hard work, I have done it in the past week and my legs were fried in the next morning.

Carole a yoga workout is great to relax and stretch the muscles after a hard week of runing.

Enjoy the day.

My goodness, people really kick it up a notch on Saturdays, don't they??

Mariángeles - didn't you just do this workout a few days ago? How is your new step working out? And how is it possible for you to do CTX Upper Body Split today, and then all the Muscle Endurance work in the Gauntlet the next day? My arms would be fried!

Dutchie - that is impressive progress on your running!!! Good work!!

Maria - ouch! I did MIC yesterday, and can't imagine putting BC cardio right after. Yikes!

Carole - I sort of joined you in a bit of a break today.

I did High Step Training Advanced, with Muscle Endurance abs. I don't find HSTA all that difficult, making me think maybe I should be challenging myself a bit more with the weights.

We awoke this morning to a world blanketed in snow. I may have to take the daughter out and try to build a snowman this afternoon.

Tomorrow's a rest day. Take care everyone!

Well, this morning was IMAX Extreme for the first time. I liked it but it didn't feel like the killer workout that Imax 2 is- maybe because the C&W sections are easier so it makes the whole workout feel easier (does that even make sense?). I think I'll try the Gauntlet tomorrow - I can't wait to see what all the talk is about:) }( .

Now I think I may do Kickbox from CTX - I have extra time this morning before the wedding so I think I'll take advantage of it :)

Here's my last question about the wedding today. It will be about 50 degrees here today -so would it be wierd to wear a sleeveless dress with a low back to a wedding(it's all indoors)? Just curious.

Mariangeles-( I too have not figured out how to type your name correctly-sorry) let me know what you think of Collateral-I haven't seen it yet but I remember thinking the previews looked good-but I guess they usually do.;-)

Have a great day, Wendy

Sandra I did this workout on Tuesday. My step is OK, tomorrow I am going to use it in the IMAX 2 segments.I am tired for the upper body split but I need to do a terminator workout in the week.I am a terminator junkie. The three terminator have compound weight and if I have to choose one of them I will do my favorite the gaunlet maybe with lighter weight .I know I am going to suffer tomorrow but it will be a friendly pain.Anyway today after cardio kicks and the ctx kickbox with all those punches my shoulder were fried and I have done all the upper upper body split with the shoulder weight exercise.I like to change my workout too, for example, yesterday I did not do MIC and kickbox of ctx series.I prefered to do KPC. I was really tired after the week and I decided only to do KPC. Have a great day.

Stayfit!!

Hi Stayfit!! Im also a Cathe addit too:). I even drove 1 1/2 hour to take her class and met her in person. You can see the pictures at the link in my signature. She is such a wonderful person inside and out. I also have all of her dvd and preorder the whole Hardcore series. Now just checking here everyday to see if any updates are posted. Can't wait.

Fiddlefit, oooohh snow in October, I am not ready for that, enjoy it though.

Wendy, do you have a shawl or wrap you could put with the dress, just for outdoors or to and from the car? That might work, otherwise just wear it and look beautiful.

I did PSBB&A this morning. My weight is coming back down slowly so that is good.

Hope you all have a great day!!:7

I find that IMAX Extreme requires patience, more than energy, LOL! I agree that the CW segments give you a longer recovery period, but because the whole thing is 1 hr and 20 minutes, I find I need to remind myself to just be patient and I'll eventually get to the end of the darn thing! This may be my Monday workout this week.

Geez, you guys are clinically insane. Or too fit for your own good :D

No more weird than, say, a long, flowy white thing perhaps paired with a veil and a long train. IMO, weddings are the event where you throw practicality out the window and wear something that shows off all your hard work. Look as gorgeous as you can, but maybe bring a light jacket for the travel to and fro.

Cheers!
Sandra

Mariángeles,

I see. I hope you don't mind my asking these questions; I just find it really interesting to see how other people put together their workouts, and their rationale for their choices. It helps me figure out how to challenge myself further, or add variety to my own workouts.

By the way, I accidentally clicked on your screen name when I went to reply to this message, and your profile came up. On your profile it states you are a male. Is that so? I always assumed you were female, because Mariángeles sounds like a girl's name to me, but I'm not Spanish, so what do I know? Please excuse me if I'm being too personal.

All the best,
Sandra

Hello all today I did BC, kept the intensity down a little though. Was just feeling a little tired. But now I feel much better!!!

Catherine :7

Good afternoon all:

Today was 30 min of ab hits, rhythmic step, and 1.5 h of Astanga yoga. I feel sooo good and relaxed right now. I had never taken Ashtanga yoga before, and I hooked. It is very physical, and sweaty, but also quite relaxing especially for the lower back.

Have a good evening

20 minutes of interval training on the elliptical, 30 minutes joggin on the treadmill plus a good long stretch! Fantastic!!

Hey All!!! No Cathe or cardio for me for too many days now. I taught BodyPump then flowing yoga today and am in dier need of a cardio endorphin fix. Tomorrow will be a Cathe step and sweat fest in my family room}( and I can't wait.

I am cursing whoever came up with the whole chocolate covered pretzel idea. The bad hand couldn't stay out of the bowl as we watched movies last night. Today's a better day but I am feeling antsy for my cardio. (Isn't working out the GREATEST habit/addiction!!:7 )

Enjoy the rest of your Saturday!!!

Take Care
Laurie

Hi everyone!!

Today I did a KPC/LG premix....this has to be one of my favorite premixes, it was so much fun!! Tomorrow I'm thinking I'll do PUB/PLB combo and RS.

Suzanne, I totally agree with you...I just adore Astanga yoga! It really is such an intense workout but leaves you in such a state of bliss! I have the Bryan Kest series and actually I haven't done that in a while sooo...if I don't do the PUB/PLB combo, I think I will pull out one of his videos!

Barbara, I just finished looking at the pictures of your meeting with Cathe. Wow! You are so lucky you got to meet her! She seems like she is all smiles even when she's not filming, you can feel her wonderful personality coming right at you through the pictures! You mentioned it took you about an hour and a half to get there....just wondering if you can tell me if you live in northern NJ? I'm in central NJ, about 10 minutes from New Brunswick. Wondering if it would take me about the same time. I'm really looking forward to that road trip Maximus has talked about after the hardcore series comes out!!

Have a great weekend:D
