Sarah / Ima

Hi Judy! Thanks so much for checking in on me! That is so sweet and thoughtful!

I am thrilled with how my run went yesterday! I can tell I am geting stronger and my endurance is increasing by the week! I am noticing the onset of fatigue is later and later each week, very very good! It is that very "thing" that has had my confidence up for several weeks now, helping me believe that I will be able to do this marathon. I feel better today after 20 miles than I have after some 13 milers last Fall! I am so thrilled that the stupid stress fracture I had during the first 2 month of training will not keep me from my race. I've completed my longest run with no problems and it is time to taper!

I just have to say that I would not be in this position if it were not for Elaine (toughYrun). She is an absolute angel and there is no way I would have the knowledge or the strength without her. My weekly progression is all from things I have been doing...all things that she taught me to do! I never would have known any of it and I would have fumbled furiously making gazillions of mistakes. I think about her constantly when I am running and so grateful that #1 I have found her and #2 she is generous and sweet enough to take me in and teach me! She is the reason why I am able to run 20 miles and then be one of the few in my training group walking without a limp or hobble afterwards. She is an absolute blessing!

Thanks again Judy for checking on me! I really appreciate it!

sarah can you share what toughrun has taught you on training for the runs? I am getting stronger ,like you said the fatigue is taking longer to set in but I still had to really push to get through that last mile, so any extra tips I can get for my next half would be great!!!thanks

Sarah..I am so happy Elaine has helped you thru this marathon training, it is so awesome to have that kind of support. I know you will do great in the marathon....:)

Wow! Sarah gives me way too much credit I think. We all know she works her butt off! I just shared my enthusiasm with what she is doing. We both love the marathon process from start to finish and I'm sure I have learned as much from her as she has from me. I have got to add that I am so freaking proud of her. When many people would have thrown in the towel she hung in there and took care of her stress fracture until it was properly healed. Can you believe this woman, on more than one occasion, spent at least two hours training on her elliptical? She is absolutely amazing and I predict great things in her marathon future!

Elaine...you have me starting to tear up!:*

You all have been so helpful, wonderful and supportive! I am so lucky to know you all! What strong and beautiful women...:* :* :*

Sarah-
I just read this. You are one of the people here who have inspired me to try running regularly.
I was watching the Boston marathon in person ans I kept thinking of you Sarah, and my kids kept asking me why I was crying. It was just so amazing. We were close to the finish, and to see those people completing that race was just awesome!!!

Oh, Judy! Now you have me crying!!! Thanks you! You are so sweet!

You may have seen my coach and didn't know it. Saturday, after he ran 20 miles with us, he charged off to Boston to run the marathon "unofficially". He snuck in at mile 2 or 3 and helped pace some friends of his! Can you believe he ran that 48 hours after doing our long run on Saturday???

Judy, I am so thrilled that yiu were able to go to Boston for the race. I would have loved to be there with you! I was thinking of the race all day...even after it was over! It sounds like you had a wonderful time! I hope you have pictures to post on your trail!
