Hello Everyone,

I just found out that my uncle just died. He was in his 50's. He owned a construction company and was helping to put up a wall. The wall came loose somehow and knocked him from the second floor to the basement. I guess he died instantly. Such a shock. I just can't believe it really happened. I was just talking about him to my husband today before I found this out. His wife was just sent to the hospital for chest pains.

In addition, we just found out that my husband's father had a
reoccurrence of colon cancer which has spread to his lungs.

Thank you for "listening". We'd appreciate any thoughts, prayers, good vibes.

Thanks,
Cath

Oh Cath, how terrible.

In regards to your uncle, it's so hard to deal with a SUDDEN and unexpected death like that. Just awful. I hope his wife is just suffering anxiety pains and that it's nothing serious.

Sorry to hear about your DH's dad as well. That's awful also. Hopefully he can fight it.

Oh hon, I feel so bad for you...try to keep your chin up even though I know it will be hard. That's a lot to handle all at once!;(

I'm so sorry to hear that. Sudden death must be especially difficult: there's no time to say goodbye. And what a sad time for it to happen. I'mm sure it will seem very "unreal" for quite a while, like your uncle should be there, or is about to step into the room.

(I've never had a relative die suddenly, but two years ago, one of my collegues--50ish, racket-ball player, hign protein dieter, type-A personality---died from a heart attack. He was such an active presence in our department---for both good and bad--and ALWAYS with his wife, it took me quite a while to get over the feeling that he was about to walk into the room. Even at his funeral. when I saw his wife, I expected him to show up soon.)

Take care: I'm sending you and your family good thoughts, and better vibes!

Cath...I am really sorry...those unexpected deaths can really get to you...You and your family will be in my thoughts and prayers...Carole

:( So sorry for your family during this tough time. It is so hard to understand when things happen suddenly and to those that seem too young to leave us this soon. My sympathies to you all and my thoughts go out to your Uncle.

Thank you so much everyone. I am so comforted by all of your kind words. I am headed in to work to talk to my boss about going home. Thanks again! I really appreciate all of your kind words :).
Cath :)
