S&H WoW!!! Have questions....

Hi friends :-jumpy

Now I see what all of you are talking about with S&H. I had bought the tape awhile back but only did the legs portion one day.

I started a rotation this morning and started with biceps & triceps. I can't believe how different it is! It is such a different workout!!!!!!!

The weird thing is my heart rate wasn't up. Can anyone tell me if your heartrate goes up during S&H? I could really feel it in my muscles so differently.

But to be honest I didn't think I would really be that sore. However, to my surprise I can already feel it, particularly in my biceps. It feels really good!!!! My bicep almost feels bigger (is that crazy????) Maybe it is just swelled?

Anyway, I am so excited to do the rotation and see the results! How many weeks do ya' all usually do it? I am thinking of doing it for 3 weeks.

If there is anyone else out there who has considered doing S&H but haven't yet... I recommend going for it! It felt soooo good today.

I think one key is to make sure you are able to focus. I did it this morning at 5:00 a.m. and I was the only one up. I really don't know how I could do it with my 2 year old and DH around.

Also, do any of you pros have any other pointers on how to make sure I get the most out of it?

How about any good rotation ideas?

Cheers,
Pammer

Hi Pammer,

No "technical" pointers for you, but I do want to pass on 2 observations I've made during my previous S&H rotations.

1- my appetite really increased during those rotations. So the first time I was caught unaware and thought I was crazy. It doesn't happen to everyone, but several forum members responded to me and told me they too had increased appetites during S&H.
2- sleep! Getting a good nights rest was important in order to fully focus and "pump out" a good workout.
Also, some forum members reported being sleepy after finishing their S&H workout. I didn't, but then again I'm an early am exerciser, so I wouldn't get sleepy immediately afterwards, but I certainly was ready for bed every night! :)

Your heart rate may rise slightly just due to exertion, but the pace is so much slower with longer rests - it shouldn't rise much. All of Cathe's great weight work outs will make me feel a "pump" or swelling in the muscle! I see a visible difference in size that will last for an hour or two. Sure makes you feel powerful and good, doesn't it? :)

I know how S&H really has a way of making you feel like you have not done anything. Especially after a PH rotation!! That PUMP in your muscle is amazing isn't it. OH SO GOOD after S&H!! My biceps actually feel like they are going to POP right out of my arms. My quads get that way too.(Wish they looked that way:)

I was a little dissapointed in the lack of soreness with S&H. I know that my poundages were not too light. I ended up splitting up Legs/Shoulders into two parts. On the leg day I did S&H and then worked in The Firms Standing Legs, the last two segments where they do the sit and stands and the step ups. I really liked that. For me, there is nothing to beat the end of SL, or the low end lunges in PH. Absolute KILLER!! Then I broke the shoulders into a day all their own after cardio. I just didn't like doing those two together.

The only tape that got me whining was the Chest/back one. I think that was due to all the sets of presses.

I share your excitement for this tape. My rotation with this one usually lasts 4 weeks, as I am so hesitant to part with it. As for results I cannot say. I don't have any results that I would go ahead and attribute to one series. I don't think 4 weeks is long enough to see a huge difference.

Have Fun!!
