S&H and the gym

Hi Cathe! I'm somewhat new to the board and I have a question. I'm wanting to start Slow & Heavy and my questions is would it be alright to rotate that with going to the gym? What I mean is doing S&H one week and the gym the next week. At the gym I do light weights (not too light)/high reps, working chest/shoulders one day, back/bi's the next, shoulders the next and then legs. I've finally been consistent with getting back into the gym and working out and I don't want to fall out of that mode. ;-) I'm curious to see your thoughts.

Thank you very much and congratulations on your baby!

Hi Luz! There is no right or wrong answer, doing any kind of workout is always going to be beneficial to your body as long as the workout is safe, effective, and good form is practiced. However, if you have never done a particular workout rotation before (in your case Slow Heavy), I personally like to recommend that you do that rotation and only that rotation for three weeks to let your body acclimate to it and reap the full benefits. Once your body has been exposed to a particular rotation (ie: Slow Heavy) for that time period than I would say it would be okay to alternate the workouts as you mentioned above. Good Luck!

thank you very much for responding cathe! it definitely makes sense to do it that way to start. thanks again!
