S&H - add L&G?

I just got S&H and previewed it. I don't plan to start it until after a swim meet May 1st since I only have about 4 weeks of weight lifting left on my current routine before I start to taper for the meet.

My question is this...after previewing it, it seems to spend a lot more time (and days) on the UB and core than the legs. Do any of you add a 4th day of L&G? Not necessarily back to back, just within the week. Any other tips for building a rotation with S&H?

Also, I can't do lunges due to bad knees. Would the step up type leg presses be a good subsitute for lunges on S&H?

Hi I can't answer all your questions but I remember a while back I ask this same question and what I do sometimes when I can't balance well on the lunges I just do squats instead but the step up sounds pretty good but I wouldn't know how that would work with the S&H maybe someone else can help you there. Well have fun with the S&H when you start
;-)

Though I love the S&H upper body workouts, I don't do S&H lower body very often, because I much prefer PLB and L&G. I also have a sensitive knee, and the S&H lunges (the one time I tried them) were too much.

I think that leg presses would be difficult to do with the S&H method. Why not just substitute a different lowr body workout?

Kathryn that's a good idea. I might do all of the S&H legs EXCEPT the lunges then add in the step up leg presses from pyramid to finish it off. Then throw in L&G another day later in the week.

Thank you!
