?'s for home spinners

RE: Cleda - you are hardcore

I was afraid someone would say that! ;-)

Yep.. cycling seems to agree with me.
I'm going to try and go out tomorrow on the REAL bike even though the high is suppose to be 40! Better than 20... tee-hee.

I actually do sweat literally buckets on the pseudo spin bike. I go through 2 to 3 bottles of water and am soaked when I'm done.. so is the bike, the hankie next to me, etc!!!!

Hedy: Hope you read this.. cuz I thought of you today. They actually stood on the tape I did today, but only for a TOTAL of 60 seconds (2 30 second sessions). I did 2.0 today ..... Time Trial Intervals. Tough, tough, tough!

Ok, off to sleep.

Do I have to have a spinning bike?

What is the difference in a spinning bike and a regular stationary bike? Is it possible to "spin" with the videos that are out there on a stationary bike?

Thanks to everyone!!

You can Angela

The only difference between a spin bike and a regular stationary bike is a slight difference in shape of the frame and possibly stability so that you can stand. The handle bars on most spin bikes let you lean forward or reposition the hands for standing and sitting moves. The seats tend to be a bit smaller and resemble those of a road bike. Stationary bikes might have a seat and frame designed to make you comfortable with only sitting. If you just stand on your pedals and you don't feel natural, comfortable or stable, you'll know your bike wasn't meant to do that.

However, don't let that stop you. The workouts aren't all about standing drills. A lot of them focus on tension and cadence..so give it a go;-)
